I'm not so sure Duff's exclusion last night is a bad thing. At least he can't get injured. He looked fit enough against Bulgaria, he was just ineffecrtive because of where he was played.
Personally I'd like to see him go to another club. This whole Abramovic / Chelski thing stinks in my view. You can't turn on the telly to watch football without seeing Abramovic's ignorant smug grin filling the screens. What does he know or care about football? Has he ever cried his eyes out as a kid like when some **** of a linesman cost us the game in Brussels? Did he ever feel sick for a week like I did after Wim Kieft's goal?
I agree with Mourinho when he says the public knows nothing about football. His boss Kenyon is a case in point. I'd bet any money that Kenyon had never even heard of Mourinho or Drogba, say, last December. He escaped hiring that bluffer Eriksson by sheer luck. He follows fashionable views spread by an English media that can't see beyond thir noses sometimes.
Rant over. Duff on the wing, Lee upfront!
Agreed. Abramovich is a dodgy geezer.... Avoiding countless millions of rubbles in tax, shifty dealings back in the USSR.....chucking his money round like theres no 2morrow!!Originally Posted by Stuttgart88

It will all end in tears for chelsea, mark my words!!
Agree with Duff free on the left with Lee partnering Robbie up Front
Never eat yellow snow!!
But didn't he sign Robben? He is a winger isn't he?Originally Posted by carnstien
No, Robben was signed a few months before Mourinho arrived.Originally Posted by tricky_colour

I honestly forgot Ranieri's name when posting the original post.Originally Posted by tiktok
I agree, I think it was AbramYon hijacking United's bid.
I suspect that he will not use Robben as a winger, he will play him behind the front 2.Originally Posted by tiktok
Saying they are equivalent to Rangers is total b-oll-x. There have always been loads of Chelsea fans in Ireland and I can go in to the Chelsea shop and buy my Chelsea t-shirts and caps emblazoned with the tricolour. OK they are an English team but they are no more English than Man Yoo or Liverpool or Leeds.Originally Posted by 4tothefloor

Don't think so Chelsea are UDA/UVF in disguise. The f****rs celebrate the queens birthday. The sooner Duff leaves the better.Originally Posted by fergalr

I'll restate the bleedin obvious for the slow learners - Chelsea, Man Yoo, Liverpool are all equally English. There ain't no basis in fact for slagging of one of them over the others. I've been in bars in West London full of Irish-based Chelsea fans - this would never be the case if your spurious allegation were true.Originally Posted by Littlest Hobo

Don't know who's feeding you this nonsense - its simply not true. I go over regularly and I'm sure I would have noticed!Originally Posted by Silvio
To back on topic - twas great to see Duffer back. Needless to say he got a great reception as usual.

Looks like Duff is in Mourinho's first team plans after all.

Mourinho probably got the idea of playing two wingers while watching Ireland the other day: P Good to see he has realised that his team need width, trying to play through the middle all the time was getting him nowhere.
Its a little bit unclear though, isn't it, because Duff is
'fit enough'.
Both at the same time? When both are fit? Or won't
he play Duff untill Robben is fit?
Duff played a part in all three goals (minor in Reids) which
is normally MOM stuff, I didn't see the game my self though.
When someone does that in an international you cannot
question his abilities, fit or unfit.
Duff is an excellent passer of the ball IMO, he tends to weight
them perfectly which makes scoring much easier.
Which reminds me, I must have a go at downloading the
goals from the FAI site again as it keep timing out last time
I tried it.
Thumbs up to the FAI for making the goals available, maybe
me and others posting goals footage twisted their arm
Is there a way to save the footage? I believe there is as someone
her pointed out (I will look), some temp file somewhere.
Also I think I have to convert them to mpegs to get them to
play better.
And finally I have to figure out a way of stopping realplayer installing
it self on my computer against my wishes, I only usually find out it
has crept back on when it tries to surepticiously access the internet
for some reason (worse than a frigging virus in my opinion) and
Zonealarm flags it up.
I tried before but it somehow manages to crash my computer so
that the modifications are lost.
As Holland found out, against us, not so very long ago!!!Originally Posted by thejollyrodger

“Damien was tired, he had just played two games for his country and had played every minute of both games with Ireland,” revealed Mourinho, as reported in the Star on Sunday.
“I went to Dublin on Saturday to watch him and I know he played the full game against Switzerland.
“It has been a hard week on our players away on international duty and it did affect us ahead of this game.
“But I can say that Damien Duff and Wayne Bridge will be selected on Tuesday night.”

They certainly missed Duff’s attacking option on Saturday, I thought he'd at least make the bench.
I thought Mourinho might just be leaving Duff out to spite Ranieri’s mother.
