Dave O'Leary will miss a few weeks according to a few people last night. Gamble, Bradley and Judge all still around though, it's times like this that the benefits of having a squad can be seen.
I don't understand why people think Gaffney has been played "out of position" when he has been played on the wing. I have such horribly vivid memories of this day in Terryland.
Also, last night's match programme:
In my opinion, Gaffney's problem since he came to Limerick is that he has been trying too hard to impress. Insteading of doing the simple things well, he has over-complicated the game and got too caught up in his own performance and making an impression.Originally Posted by Mervue Utd v Limerick FC match programme, 13/07/12
The games he has played well in are those where he has relaxed and just played naturally, whether he has been on the wing or up top.
I think he was a bit tense last night, because he was playing against his old club, and tended to hold onto the ball too long. He often lost possession when trying to do too much (similar to last week v Waterford).
But overall, I think this season he is learning to cope with the pressure of expectation and has played some good games for us.
Fight the good fight!

The ball is round and has many surprises.
@redron would you stop playing Gaffney up front and put him back out onto the wing or would you prefer to leave him where he is most effective???
