Mike Boyce getting married in Broadford, related and friend to alot of the players. I agree with the statement above but I am sure you will have to agree that its far from convenient like u said. However if you are man enough to say it is why dont you come out and say it to the man on the day

Who is injuried and suspended for ncw?I don't think it's a coincidence that the two teams are meeting that day. Both teams are behind on league games so have to catch up to the rest

Not much to discuss this last week so I taught I'd throw this one out; Is it time the desmond league considered summer soccer.
Personally I'd be all for it, the clashing with GAA arguement dont stand up much anymore as GAA is now virtually all year round. Clubs now have excellent
playing surfaces and its a shame to see them lying idle over the summer months. There would be more flexibility with fixtures as games could be played any
    evening during the week.
The only negative I can think of is players summer holidays but I'm sure a 2 week break could be factored in to accomadate, I know it wont suit all but every
Sunday players miss games for 1 reson or another.
I think the Desmond League has to do a bit of forward thinking for the future. Youths league is becoming a farce every year with clubs withdrawing after 1 or 2
rounds and this year 2 junior clubs have folded. Summer soccer is just 1 idea but I'm sure others would have constructive suggestions. My hope for 2013 is the
league will listen to the people on the ground to improve the game and help clubs build for the future

Here in Clare our schoolboys league is run through the summer march to September roughly speaking. Mayo junior league is full time summer soccer. Personally I don't think it would work, the chances of doing well in national competitions is slim to none. Head to head with gaa, summer holidays, summer jobs, lots of distractions.
But I do fear for youths football though, we have only 4 teams in our u19 league, disgraceful.. The quality is there, the numbers arnt. As it happens I've seen Desmond youths play this year, have a lot of nice players. A decent side to be fair

I remember broadford played ncw on a friday evening towards the end of last season which clashed with the 1st rd of the county football ironically also b/f v ncw. Both teams reached the county final played the end of october. So in 5 months ncw played 7 games and drom/broad played 8. Y'oud get a lot of soccer played in that timescale

Always happens around Christmas,I can never remember a lot of matches being played this time of year, maybe there should just be a Christmas break instead of having players staying around only for games to be postponed at the last minute.

Big win for ncw this morning, probably just about deserved it.big challenge for broadford to retain the league trophy now. I'd doubt NCW Rovers game went ahead Thomas unless it was changed to ballingarry.
