What's the chances of pitches being playable Sunday
minors played on it sunday in the last 16 of the national cup.
pitch took a fair hammering and this"balmy weather" we are having, will not help matters.
if that's a disgraceful (one L) carry-on then so be it.
fairview were actually looking forward to the match in fact, and it actually would be preferable to have the suspensions served, before the tuohy cup final.
there have been numerous matches played on both pitches, with so many underage teams to cater for.
just said i would reply,to keep the neutral(and level headed) people in the know
apologies...under 17's played on it

correct if im wrong and i well maybe but the touhy cup is not normally played until 16th of march ,and seen as we are in cork and wexford the next 2 weeks then i would imagine view would have a lawson cup game in between to clear any suspensions, agree with you about pitches taking a battering and also on the subject of having so many underage teams to cater for,[ we have 2 teams in dublin and dundalk this weekend in national cups,] but you said view were looking forward to the game ,so does this mean ye have resigned yerselves to the fact the game will not be going ahead or did you in fact mean the view are looking forward to the game. And if you were so looking forward to it why did you go to ldmc looking for it off
[QUOTE=hotdog;1659034]because the pitch would be destroyed...simple as.
as regards suspensions, the A team went almost 7 weeks without a match,up until the semi against the Boro.the pitches have been taking a hammering, because the 16,17,and minor teams are all still involved in national cups, and were all fortunate to get almost all the matches at home.
so matches went on the pitches, even when most other matches were called off
so with the weather showing no signs of improving,it could happen again.
remember there have been at least two blanket call offs in the not too distant past. and the week before paddys day is the 10th(about six weeks away)
best not to look for"strokes being pulled",just because it is pike and view.
it is to save the pitch
[QUOTE=prawnsandwich2;1659037]Why don't Fairview play this game in UL then like Geraldine's did last week,if ye haven't played in 7 or so weeks then I'd say the young lads would only be too happy to play,I believe UL are making their pitches available and if I'm not mistaken Care Park are availing of them Saturday night,Pike and Carew playing big FAI games the following week, could do with a game the week before,
tbf thats one thing you could never accuse pike of....pulling strokes.......and of course the pitch at crossagalla is the envy of all, even if thats unplayable you have the second pitch, and if thats unplayable they always have kilmallock.
[QUOTE=faceoff;1659074]dines done it because it was a cup match, and did not want to concede home advantage...that's why.
it looks like the match will go ahead at this stage, unless the ref. calls it.
but the pitch will get destroyed in the process.
it has nothing got to do with young lads wanting matches or not.
last comment on the matter
And you have a cheek of throwing digs at hotdog, everyone knows you have no time for Pike, but if you think that bothers them you have another thing coming,Hopefully the game will go ahead on Sunday, didn't hear you questioning why Hibs are giving up home advantage to come in to UL,wonder who's paying for it??Why would a team put an additional cost on themselves for no reason,ie petrol and renting of field,???
From what I hear hibs can't get lads on a Sunday morning only had 7 for wembley last week so obviously it makes sence to play it Saturday before lads go out
