Some do ya,not all though.if you can't get a sponsor it's very hard for clubs to afford them to be honest, most clubs would have an old second one cause if there's a clash of jerseys the home side must change.

Would you be able to tell me what the alternate colour's of the premier sides are?

The Geraldines team that beat Janesboro in the Limerick District Premier League at the weekend

Pat Sheehan rounds up the Premier League action from the Limerick District League where the highlight was Geraldines impressive 4-2 win over Janesboro.

    Janesboro 2 Geraldines 4

Geraldines turned in a memorable second half performance as they overran Janesboro at Pearse Stadium on Sunday morning.

Paul O’Donnell’s side have been motoring along nicely since their return to the top flight and the influence of trainer Mike Considine was evident in Sunday’s performance.

As the game progressed ‘Dines seemed to get stronger and stronger and if they can maintain this level of fitness they are in for a comfortable second half to the season.

Janesboro will be bitterly disappointed. Ironically they could have been a couple of goals to the good before ’Dines got a hold on the game but failure to take their chances proved costly.

There is no doubting the talent in the ‘Boro side but they desperately need a leader on the park. Shane Clarke is captain but he needs to keep his focus on scoring so someone further back the field is needed to call the shots during the game and let fly at his team mates for slacking. They have a week to sort things before hosting Balla in a crunch FAI game next Sunday.

‘Boro started the game brightly and could have taken the lead inside two minutes following a good run by Christy Doyle but Shane Clarke was unable to provide the finish.

A superb flowing move by ‘Boro led their opener on the half hour mark. Bobby Tier denied Clarke what would have been a brilliant goal but the resultant corner, cleared to the edge of the area, was dispatched low and hard back into the bottom corner by Clarke.

Geraldines responded well and levelled before the break when Bobby Tier blasted home with the help of a deflection.

Just after the resumption ‘Boro had a great chance to go ahead following good work by Shane Waters but Doyle, sliding in, could not get the required touch.

Thereafter George Daffy took the game by the scruff of the neck and ran the show for the next 45 minutes.

An exquisite pass by the Croom man found Lee at the back post but a brave save by Glasheen prevented a goal.

A sloppy pass out of defence was seized on by Tier and a through ball for Lee temped Glasheen from goal which resulted in a penalty and a red card for the keeper. Daffy converted the spot kick to put Dines ahead.

Another quick breakaway put Lee clear his centre saw Rich Flynn step over but Daffy fired wide. Daffy made amends minutes later when he sent Christy O’Neill clear from half way and when the Dines midfielder drew the keeper he centred for Bobby Tier to finish.

‘ Dines cold have netted a few more but the best was kept for last when Daffy broke clear and faced one on one dinked the ball over the keeper for a wonderful goal.

Shane Clarke scored a consolation late in the game rifling in a free kick with venom but it proved too little too late.

Janesboro - Darren Glasheen; Wayne O’Donovan; Aled Harkin; Pat McGarry; Lee O’Mara; Shane Waters; David Donnan; Aidan Hurley; Christy Doyle; Shane Clarke; Declan Nash. Subs: Dave Roche; Sean Kelly; James Hayes

Geraldines - Keith McCarthy; Paul Fitzgerald; Danny O’Neill; Ian Storan; Tom O’Grady; Eddie Lee; Christy O’Neill; George Daffy; Bobby Tier; Derek Hannon; Jamie McMahon. Subs: Richie Flynn; Stuart Byrnes

Aisling Annacotty 2 Fairview Rgs 5

Fairview held onto joint second spot with a comfortable win over Aisling in difficult conditions on Saturday evening.

Fairview took the lead after 10 minutes when Aisling failed to deal with Shane Power’s corner kick and Colin Scanlon was in like a flash to finish.

Five minutes later Dean McNamara and Colm Heffernan combined to feed Mark McGrath who turned and shot and while John Chawke in the home goal got a touch, the power of the shot took it over the line.

It was 3-0 when Shane Power hit a beauty to the top corner but just before the break Shane Cusack’s long ranger reduced the deficit.

Midway through the second half Lucca Tedde’s first time cross found former Aisling striker Scanlon who fired in his second and Fairview’s fourth via the crossbar.

With five minutes remaining Richie Mullins’ ball over the top put Derek O’Hanlon through to complete the visitors scoring. A late consolation by Mike Marsh ended the scoring.

Aisling Annacotty - John Chawke; Philip Byrnes; Anthony McDonnell; Niall Feeney; Shane Cusack; Ronan Smalle; Jason Sheehan; Darren Harrington; Mike Marsh; Evan O’Neill; David Njuki. Subs: Stephen Leddin

Fairview Rgs - Jamie Stewart; Jason Mullins; Craig Madigan; Richie Mullins; Niall Mullen; Shane Power; Colm Heffernan; Dean McNamara; Lucca Tedde; Colin Scanlon; Mark McGrath. Subs: Darren Nolan; Derek O’Hanlon; Karl Turner

    Pike Rovers 4 Kilmallock 0

Following their defeat to Carew Park last weekend it was felt Kilmallock may face a backlash in their League game with Pike on Sunday. Well they did, kind of, as Pike ran out 4-0 winners. However the county side gave a good fight before succumbing to three goals in the last 20 minutes.

Pike started brightly and only a full length save by Brian Murphy kept Alan Barry out after five minutes.

The Pike talisman was not to be denied and on 20 minutes his diving header from Jason Heffernan’s cross found it’s target; 1-0 to Pike.

Midway through the second half, Pike’s man of the match, Eddie O’Donovan let fly with a shot that forced another super save from Murphy.

Five minutes later O’Donovan supplied the ammo for Barry to tack on his second of the day.

O’Donovan began the move that led to the third goal when his pass was added to by Hartnett for Paul Doona to lob the keeper. Another former Kilmallock favourite Jason Heffernan scored the fourth to complete the scoring.

Pike Rovers - John Ryan; Wayne Colbert; Eddie O’Donovan; Pat Mullins; Martin Deedy; Keith Hartnett; Gavin O’Shea; Jason Heffernan; Dave Ryan; Alan Barry; Paul Doona. Subs: John Okoro; Conor Moloney

Kilmallock - Brian Murphy; Eamon McGuire; Sean Palmer; John Heffernan; Gavin O’Mahoney; Niall O’Riordan; Mark Heffernan; Mark Hayes; Finbar Hanley; Anthony Punch; Chris Todd. Subs: Aaron Costello; Benny Bourke

Corbally Utd 1 Regional Utd 3

For the second time in two weeks Regional got the better of Corbally in Sunday’s League outing.

Ken Nealon put Corbally ahead in this one but by half time Danny Galvin had levelled the tie from Shane O’Donoghue’s corner kick.

Two minutes after the restart John O’Leary’s long throw found O’Donoghue who gratefully accepted to put Regional ahead.

The insurance goal came when new signing Willie Griffin cut inside his marker and released Galvin for his second of the day.

Regional Utd - Robert Shier; John O’Leary; Mike Aherne; Ian Hughes; Kieran O’Connell; Peter Nash; Shane O’Doherty; Shane O’Donoghue; Darren Naughton; Danny Colbert; Danny Galvin. Subs: Willie Griffin; Jimmy Bourke; Paudie Walsh

They should have done their homework,or maybe took a chance, only themselves to blame.
