Regional 0-1 Carew Park
Better side won but a hard pill for Regional to swallow considering that the winner was converted with pretty much the last kick of the game. Still they can have no complaints, as Carew were the only side capable of putting any kind of period of possession together this evening. Regional looked very disjointed and with neither striker really looking to drop off the midfield were often forced to try difficult through balls that didn't come off. Still Regional did have chances, with Danny Colbert being put through a few times, most notably in the first few seconds when he really should have scored.
The goal came from a ball into the box which Sean Sheehy palmed/punched out into the path of Brian Aherne, who made no mistake. A sickener but the right result really.
Care to expand on that?
Dines 0-2 Pike
Have to say I thought the Dines deserved atleast a point from this game.
First half was fairly even enough and it went in 0-0 at HT (with only a couple of half chances for each team)
15mins into the second half the Dines were awarded a peno (which I must say was borderline edge of the area, and could have easily been given as a free instead) but either way, Gary Neville saved it from Christy O'Neill, with 20mins to go Pike scored a scrappy goal through Conor Moloney from a set piece to go 1up.
With the Dines attacking Pike broke and scored on the counter attack through a debatle offside goal finished by Alan Barry..........
Dines then had a free hit the post and Pike had an effort cleared off the line.
Overall, if the game had finished level Pike couldnt complain in fairness.

Regional 0 Carew park 1, Brian ahern
EXcellent 3pts for carew who deserved the win in the end totally dominated the 2nd half regional were just clearing there lines giving it back to carew to start another attack on 83mins another horrendous decision from the ref when the ball was squared to Jon Grant taking out the keeper to tap in from 2yrds out empty goal when he was pushed from behind as he was about to tap in ref waves play on unbelievable decision that had regional players in knots laughing.
GOal scored last kick of the game corner cleared ball wiped back in keeper flapped ball fell to Brian ahern at the edge of the box who drilled it low for a great finish.
Kilmallock 2-1 Shannon Hibs, Kilmallock with a goal in last 30 seconds to win it
fairview 3 corbally 1
colin scanlon(2) and eddie mangan...deserved win for fairview
surprised at the winning margin in the wembley game..though it would be closer.
fairview are away to hibs on sunday morning.
great start for fairview considering, winning three on the trot .
I see you didn't mention Deedy's free for Pike which also hit the post, but anyway, don't think Pike would have been happy with a draw in all fairness with the amount of chances they created, albeit few of them were when Dines were chasing the game, all in all good game played with good spirit, don't think there was one bad challenge in the game,if Dines get a bit of luck in the draws in FAI and MJ they could have lengthy runs in them,
Only 10 players 4 games into season doesn't bode well ..
Lads is today the last day for local transfers too ??? Any movers ???
