doyle and kearney start for ireland

Fair play to the boys. Its a testament to the two of them that they are keeping fellas that are over in england out of the team. Well done lads!

    Nope, it's our doyler

    here
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

    Thumbs up

Team: Henderson (Notts County); Kelly (Tottenham Hotspur), McCarthy (Manchester City), Fitzgerald (Blackburn Rovers), Capper (Scarborough); McGeady (Celtic), Potter (Liverpool), Whelan (Sheffield Wednesday), Kearney (Cork City); Doyle (Cork City), Elliott (Sunderland.

Subs: Murphy (Swansea City), McStay (Leeds United), Flood (Manchester City), Thornton (Sunderland), Tabb (Brentford), Foley (Luton Town), Capper Murphy (Waterford United).

    -----------------

Means Kearney is keeping Flood (next best thing) & Thornton (used to be next best thing) out of the team as they play in similar positions which should make the eL knockers take notice.

Thornton is more a central midfield player so he is not really in Kearney's position. Surprised not to see him start though. Wilo Flood is though and was getting some rave reviews for Man City not so long ago so fair play to Kearney for starting ahead of him.

'Twould be sweet if Shels could take some of the U21s who aren't getting a game with their club on loan.

    Doyler scores for U21's

It's 3-0 to Ireland at the moment, Doyler got the 3rd.
Both Doyler and Kearney started the game.

How did they get on anyway .... did anyone go up for it ??
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

wasn't the best game in the world Face, it has to be said. doyler was used as a target man, which was a bit strange, but he did well. his goal was a header which was pretty much on the line, good cross from potter.

the first goal was a belter from glen whelan, second a set piece which fitzgerald got a head to on the back post.

I was at it too and was just sitting behind a certain Pat Dolan. Perhaps he was checking out the talent (on the pitch of course!). Doyle played ok and Kearney was the same. A lot of cork city jerseys at the game!
