    Work Presentations

Are they good, bad or what?

I'll vote after I have to endure my "getting wed" one...

Basically I always find them an unnecessary pain in the ass. Having to get dressed up in a suit and go out and meet clients was always a major bugbear for me, and now thanks to video conferencing and the ability to email powerpoint presentations to clients, I don't have to do that anymore...yippeeeee

Are you talking about everyone in the office giving a gift to a colleague for one reason or another?
If so, I think they're a waste of time.

Not sure what kind of Presentation you mean but we had (when actually had staff) a tradition of collections for people leaving company when we alll have cakes with presentation on the firday afternoon. Was good to a poiunt but got boring when people leaving every week for a while...

I think we have that here too. When someone leaves, or goess off to get married, we all gather round and politley clap after the boss says a few kind words. I had when I got married (Waterford cystal- very nice!) and when I left for new office (Battling laser robots. fantastic!!)

It's mildly embarassing, but one of those things we all have to go through from time to time.

Congratulations Macy!! When's the big day?

Yeah one of those speech by boss, round of applause, presentation, then tea and coffee.

I think they're a pain in the arse, as you have to talk to people you don't like, and in this case those I do like are invited to the wedding anyway (either day or evening). I suppose it's a nice thought, but I really hate speaking in public. Mind you, didn't say much as I had a bet that I'd just say thanks. I won that one

Nice cheque though all the same...

I would have thought the same as you ... Annual Work Presentation, pain in the arse really but i suppose it depends on how its done and with who (is it taken seriously or is it just routine)
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
