    Question Devine or Mooney?

Its been a side debate for the last month or so, so it might aswell get it's own thread.

Devine's inconsistant displays resulted in him being dropped for 3 matches when Mooney replaced him - kept 2 clean sheats (which City have not had too often) and generally played quite well, yet Devine is now back in goal and was partially at fault for Rovers goal on Sunday.

I think that Mooney is better for City in goal then Devine, how about ye?

yeah i agree. any chance mooney has got recently hes done well, and deserves a decent run in the first team.

Always reckoned Mooney should never have been dropped day1, never saw the need to spend so much money on Devine who is granted a fine fine keeper but why not spend that money on a right sided midfielder or a centre half....anyway from reading reports of devine's blunders in the last few games....the word VINDICATION comes to mind

    Mooney No 1.

But also left in 2 against Shels...

I don't think there's much between them but I'd have Devine in by a shade.

He might have left in 2 goals but they were not f*ck ups.Why he was dropped after that game is a mystery to me.

I agreed Mooney deserved his chance but my nerves can't handle Mooney.

I think Devine will now get a run of a few games & if he doesn't impress Mooney could be back for an extended run.

Wouldn't be good to change keepers from game to game.

Ah sure one of them will get injured & make the decision for Murphy.

    Keepers

Any club needs two good keepers (at least). Its keeping the one that's not playing first team football happy, that's the tricky bit.

BTW which two teams did Mooney keep a clean sheet against?
don't worry, they couldn't hit an elephant at this dis......

It's very difficult to choose between Mooney and Devine. However since Murphy signed Devine himself, I believe the manager will always give him the nod.

I believe since Mounty wasn't long in the job both Devine & Mulligan were recommended by Murphy.

Ya DM signed Mooney after our 4:1 loss to Rovers last year.

I agree with Jim Smith, we need 2 good keepers, but who do you think should be #1?

There's no way you could blame Mooney for any of the (excellently worked) goals V $hels.

And speaking of nerves watching the City goalkeeper... any time Devine goes to collect a ball from the ground ala V Bray

Mooneys clean sheets V Cobh & Monaghan(?)

Think Mooney's after picking up an injury now, don't know how slight/serious, but I wouldn't expect to see him between the sticks against Schumi's boys...
