Is Bradley back? Hopefully Foley gets a longer run out in this game. I'd like to see him play with Gaffney.

I would think Bradley will be back. He was sent off for two yellows so surely he just got the automatic ones game ban.

Perfect opportunity to give Foley a start. I thought he looked quality again when he can on. He thinks that split second faster than everyone else on the pitch.

    I'd say it could be:

    Dave Ryan

    Shaun Kelly
    Pat Purcell
    Corie Tracey
    Shane Tracey

    James McGrath
    Dave O Leary
    Stephen Bradley
    Sean Brosnan

    Dominic Foley
    Denis Behan

Delighted to get a chance to go to an away game since it's so close by. Foley is probably still not fully match fit so the League Cup is a good opportunity to give him a full run out. A game Limerick are well capable of winning.

Hopefully put out a strong enough team to go through anyway would be nice to have a Semi- Final if we could get one of the big teams left in it at home in a Semi it would be great.

Another two yellows as well. First one wasn't a yellow and the second one was.

Played well up to 3-0 and then took the foot off a bit. Just tried to catch Bray on the break from there which was understandable.

Good performance for the most part, strong team out. First goal from a long Gaffney throw in, nice composure from Coughlan to get it in the net. Second an absolute screamer from the same man, ball up from Sheehan, headed backwards by Gaffney, and Coughlan hit it with sweet left-footed half volley. Brilliant goal. Sheehan's was a beaut as well, delicately put past the Bray keeper, trickled over the line.

Limerick sat back a lot after that. In truth, we cn actually count ourselvesa bit lucky with that early blitz, as Bray had a load of chances to get back into the game, especially in the second, that they really should have put way. Definite penalty for them, well taken, though Ryan did get a hand to it.

The rest of the game was certainly a bit nervy, not helped by a very poor referee who gave out yellows (and one red) needlessly and seemed to have a very poor perception of what was going on. He and Behan had a bit of a confrontation in the second half when things threatened to boil over, he gave Behan a tiny bit of a shove which seemed to rile him up (though Behan shouldn't have been shouting at the ref at all, in fairness).

Both sides had chances in the last ten minutes, and Limerick should have put a few of theirs away. The counter-attacking game didn't work so well for us in the second half, many missed opportunites, though it was good to see them put significant pressure on the Bray backs when they had the ball. The Bray players did seem to be shouting t each other and whinging a lot, problems there?

Gaffney was good, though on a few occasions he was tracking back very slowly. Guthrie (I think) had a bit of a hard time at the back on occasion, but overall the defence was able to deal with Bray's high balls well enough. It was the low passes that they had trouble with sometimes. Foley got a half hour or so and had some good touches. Brosnan put in a good effort as well, though his final touch let him down badly.

We pretty much stunned them in the first 20 minutes and while they could have gotten back into it with a bit more precision in front of goal, Bray didn't look as interested as Limerick. They'll be annoyed not so much as going out of the League Cup, but with the poor showing of their defence which looked very nervous at times. Then again, if this really was the best Bray could do (and I don't really know, haven't seen much of them) then my confidence in Limerick being a competitive top tier side has gone up.

Not a great crowd, I counted roughly 150 10 mins before kick-off, wouldn't say there were more then 250 or so there in total.15e for a ticket was way too steep in my opinion, especially for a League Cup game.

So, job done, bring on the semi's.

In fairness Garbhan, like Joe Gamble last Friday but for different reasons, was the victim of the usual shocking reffing.

His first yellow last night was absolutely ridiculous but Tuite gave it to him because the Bray players were crying and moaning in his ear and he felt the need to stamp some of his "authority" on the game. So out flashes a cheap yellow.

That's grand except when the second challenge comes later on in the game it's a rash one and a definite yellow.

But because the ref has given the earlier, ridiculous yellow, this definite yellow now in effect becomes a definite red.

It's frustrating stuff and it happens all too often.

Its a pity there wasnt more people at the game to see our 2nd and 3rd goals.....

2nd was spectacular nice play up to it a lovely cushioned header back by Gaffney and a fantastic strike from Coughlan had a great view right behind it and it started about a foot wide and curled its way into the top corner.

Absolutely delighted to see Garry Sheahan score too and it was a lovely finish. Looks like all the hard work he is doing is starting to pay off looked like he was getting back to himself some bit.

Have to say Gaffney is like a new player up front. The hard work he puts in up there causes a lot more problems up there in front of goal than it did him running up and down the wing. His link up play has been excellent. The long throws have calmed down a but too which is good. Before it was 15 to 20 a game and now it's only a handful.
