Seems a strange signing...Maybe Robbie Martin's not found the form from three years ago, but with the likes of Paul Byrne, John Brophy and Pat Burke knocking them in for fun in the reserves, not to mention Colm Kierans and Pat McWalter, I wouldn't have thought we'd have needed another forward! I know he scored ten goals for Kilkenny a couple of years back - not a bad achievement for them! - but still, seems strange. How old is he?

He is a very good player as any Kildare County supporter will tell you. Pacey, strong and skillfull, he will give any First Division squad a boost. He is only in his early-mid 20's aswell so he has a decent future ahead of him wherever he ends up.

Robbie Martin certainly hasnt found the form he had a few seasons ago. The chap is a fairy and i let him know as much when he gets the ball.

Must admit I got used to the idea of Dublin City being full of UCD rejects last season (Mick O'Byrne, Andy Noonan, Robbie Dunne, John Browne, Jason Colwell this season) - don't really want to see it being reversed now, especially as we'll soon be the rightful one league ahead of City next year!

He's a decent striker. Excellent one-v-one finisher with a bit of pace. Could be an option on the wing, too.

Current DCFC Viking of the Month thanks to a few goals in July, but never really shone at City, thanks to his being played alongside Gary O'Neill in a partnership of small, mobile strikers that was never going to work. Good luck to Philly at Belfield.

    Philly Hughes

Philly is a decent player who always seems to score goals whoever he playes for, he actually scored 15 goals in all competitions for Killenny while on loan from St.Pats for 3 months. He also scored 14 in all comp.for Kildare last season. This season he has 6 or 7 but hasn't played all the games, he has missed out on about 8 or 9 games and he's goals per time on pitch is better than Gary O'Neills. He did get supporters player of the month last month and before John Gill resigned he said that Hughes should have got Eircom player of the month for June, so I wouldn't be to quick to write him off lets see how he gets on and then judge him

Very good player. We did not like to lose him.
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

Sounds like an on-form Robbie Martin!

Another option up front would probably be handy. I don't know anything about him so I don't know whether he'd be first team material though.

Looked sharp-ish against Kilkenny, but I'll wait for the goals!

On the official club site, it says that we signed him on loan from CHF.
