They are gone confirmed.
Big Johns decision to make sure they got up ahead of us worked out well then.
ffs. every year
Is this all off the back of that sponsor pulling out or have they been in trouble a while i wonder.
Interesting line about the lack of support from the National League. How many clubs is that Roddy has gotton rid of? Sad day for the Mons fans. Being there know the feeling!
Licensing fails yet again
I feel really sorry for the supporters of Monaghan this morning.
That's awful news. They seemed to be one of the best run clubs around for so long, always living within their means despite the obvious lack of supporters, they were developing excellent young players too. Did Roddy play a role in leading them into an unsustainable state? Another sad day for the League of Ireland.

very very sad to hear!!! FAI showing what a great organisation they are!!!wonder when will they realise that mons have actually pulled out seen as there all off on the **** in poland??
So sad to hear this. My heart goes out to all who held the club dear.

Can't believe things were that bad up there.
Not many people have a bad word to say about the club.
Sad day for Mons and the League
This is nothing to do with Roddy or the squad.
A wage increase would have happened when we went into the premier regardless of who was manager. Again it is not Roddy or the Squad that are at fault and they have been very supportive and understanding throughout our recent difficult times.
Timing is something i was looking at too....FAI have a word so that it would be the same day as the Ireland game i wonder.
Not that it would get much coverage anyway but will get even less now with people writing about the "Best fans in the world" and the pointless match.
Sorry if its not tidy

Cork City Played 13 GF 15 GA 17 Pts 14
U.C.D. Played 13 GF 13 GA 23 Pts 9
Dundalk Played 12 GF 12 GA 21 Pts 8
Bohs go ahead of us
Sligo lose 6 points, Pats lose 4, Shamrock lose 4.
Drogs, Derry, Shels, Bray, ourselves and UCD all lose 3 points
Dundalk lose one point, Bohs lose none.
Dundalk are the big winners, won't be automatically relegated now and only one point behind UCD
I must say its not that surprising, we had all wondered how they were surviving on the crowds they were getting, even when they were relatively successful over the past few seasons, with high first division finishes and a couple of decent cup runs under Mick Cooke (semi of FAI cup and League cup final I believe?) their crowds were still poor even by LOI standards.
Credit to them for keeping the show on the road as long as they did, and my heart goes out to those fans they did have, I can't imagine what they are feeling now.
Of course John Delaney will trumpet Carlsbergs "Probably the Best Fans in the World"™ tonight while our football clubs are dying a slow death as he takes more money out of Irish football than the National Champions and his Senior Manager takes something like 20 times what our Champions get (is he still on 2m?)
Sad to hear this news, loved going to Gortakeegan for matches, cheap booze and then the Mon Dogs.
NO MORE MON DOGS!!!
Is that the confirmed protocol then? All of their previous results are nullified? I mean, I presume that would be the case. And what about the relegation structure? And will the FAI now promote an extra team from below?
Very saddened to hear the news, housemate from Monaghan is pretty down (though not suprised).
