A promising player whose stagnated a bit the past few seasons, hopefully he gets himself going again.
has signed for Dutch team Telstar after being released from Arsenal.

2nd division in holland seems an interesting choice best of luck to him
Just about to post this. Good luck to him. Glad to see another player giving it a go on the Continent.
Murphy looking to Aberdeen.

Not a bad season - http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Play...5&seasonID=142
not great either though, only seven goals, and more than half of those were penalties.
Saw him play for the u21's against Denmark, and thought his movement and first touch were lacking
made his 1st appearance since March today, coming off the bench for Dagenham & Redbridge against Shrewsbury: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Live#420067
Has signed for Forest Green in the National League
Is it any wonder why Daniel Crowley has declared for England?
He's probably seen how Conor Henderson, Philip Roberts and Rhys Murphy's careers have went.
At least he hasn't gone to the USA.
I thought Murphy & Henderson were both part of the U19 team that reached the semi-final of the Euros in 2011. Turns out they weren't.
Having a look at that squad though, only Hendrick has gone on to be capped with Matt Doherty probably not far off one and perhaps John Egan in the future.
The rest are basically lower Champ/L1/SPL. There's also a few lads who probably aren't even playing anymore at a pro level. Sad really....
2011 U19 Squad
Had a look at that squad, a huge number of them were born outside of Ireland.
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Did you count Derrick Williams as foreign born? Technically he was born in Germany but moved to Waterford when he was a child.
And Sean McGinty!
I don't think the situation is too bad from that team. Realistically, guys who are playing Championship/SPL at 23 are the sort of internationals we produce these days. You could see the likes of O'Connor and Forde coming into the picture in the next couple of years. I'd say it stands up fairly well to Kerr's Euro-winning teams, albeit without a Duff/Keane mega-talent.

Given we're in the transfer window, I wonder if he has another club lined up?
