pike got the draw no one wanted although derek whyte will be telling anyone who listens that pike will be favourites cos they always seem to do well against them!! still id have to go for fairview, as for the other ties hard to see balla losing to caherdavin, carew pk have a potential banana skin against herbertstown away where balla came unstuck in the mjc last year, park and boro will be another close call out in shannon but boro seem to be coming into form and are beginning to look like there is the potential for a quality side so ill go for them by a whisker, as for the other tie granville and bruff great for those clubs that one of them can get outta town thats what cup football is all about however i do think its a pity that one of these 2 teams will get outta town but 2 from pike fairview boro and park wont

Paul O'Donoghue is not even turning up for games. The manager seems to have included the best around. Maybe David McCarthy of Hill Celtic deserves a bite but otherwise.....

Dermot Finnan resigned as fairview manager roughly this time year then took the oscar traynor team to the quarter finals and is now managing janesboro where he is trying to pretty much rebuild the team from scratch cos apart from 3 or 4 players ie brian lawlor barry conway mark houlihan alan o keefe and jason o conner he doesnt have a whole pile to work with

Idhave to disagree with that..He hasa lot more to work with than Mike Ryan had and he brought them on a great run in the league and cup campaigns last year ...Finnan has brought in a few and kept most of last years squad except paul o donnell so they should do as well as they normally do if not better because they have a very experienced team with some good young lads

in theory clownboy you would be right but some of the older lads seem to be really stuggling with fitness, conor lynch has gone off the boil, bubbles cant run, alan sheehan has gone over the top, robbie dalton is getting sent off for no reason, mick ahern has been a big loss going forward from the back, kevin fitzpatrick has been a loss cos for all his faults he is still better than whats there, dom fitzgerald is a very poor centre back, ray hourigan has been a loss for his versatility alone and the seem to be struggling fitness wise, fair enough i have only seen them twice but they are not a patch on fairview. They were fairly good against pike for 45-60 mins but saying that that was only due to inspirational performances from their 3 key players up the middle o keefe o connor and houlihan. Daltons sending off was the killer

not that i have heard and id say clownboy would agree when i say that something like that would spread like wildfire around the town, besides they are still in the fai and munster junior and with a good draw and a bit of luck could go a long way

thats a big if though, there was nothing between the sides on both occaisons they have met this season if im informed correctly, although i would fancy them to give pike a rattle in the mjc after watching last weekends match, that is assuming they can keep 11 on the field

I was at that match, and to be honest, I thought Boro were quite shocking. I think the only 2 players they had who posed any threat to Pike were O'Keeffe and Brian Lawlor, the odd time he saw the ball. The goalie can't kick the ball half the length of the pitch, and this Mark Houlihan fella seems to be the most overrated player I've seen in a long time. I honestly can't see what you seem to see in him, and I'm not slagging here, I just don't rate him. I've seen him 3 times now this season, and each time is as bad as the others.O'Connor does not look fit enough yet for me. Pike got a silly pen...the tackler should have known that Considines right foot is for standing on only, and he posed absolutely no threat where he was. Stupid. Scrappy second goal, ut Pike have a decent side now, and I fancy them to knock the View out.

id agree that o connor is no where near as fit as for houlihan answer me this much, did martin o neill the pike centre forward do a whole pile? i would say not i think houlihan marked him completely out of the game and he is an international centre forward, just for the record he was wearing number 4

I think Houlihan is a good young player but i would have to agree that he is over rated but thats probably Mike Ryans Fault not his...I think he will develop into a fine centre Back if he doesent believe the hype that is he is still a bit green.Agree with Joe if anyone is to knock the View out it Pike ...They have beaten them th last 3 times they have played them and are in better form at the moment..I think it will be close though

The reason i say that is because he was raving about Mark and how good he is etc and that might of went to his head a bit ...good player in my opinion though and will get even better no doubt
