    Off to a great start.

Some of you may be feeling a little down after today's result however there is no need to feel that way for a number of reasons.

    1) Croatia are the best team in the group.

    2) Croatia are ranked above Italy.

    3) Spain are worse than Italy.

    4) We are as good as, if not better than Italy.

    5) Thus we are better than Spain.

    6) Most people went in thinking Spain were the best team and Croatia
were the worst, the truth is the opposite.

    7) We were unlucky with decisions and fluke goals.

    8) Croatia will demolish both Spain and Italy leave them with just one
point each and a game against Ireland.

    9) A win and a draw are good enough for us to qualify.

!0) Two draws may be enough for us to qualify.

So everything to play for against two lack lustre sides, we just need to up our game a tad.

86% of us live on cloud cuckoo land according to an RTE poll so most will probably buy into this.

    1st goal was a fluke
    We should have a penalty.
2nd goal was the result of a foul on Ward. (his apparent sliced clearance was due to a foul).

Should have been 2-2 or indeed 2-1 to us as we would not be chasing the game when down to an illegal goal.

I can still see us winning this, 200-1 is still available. (as is 384-1 but with limited funds).

By "up our game a tad", do you mean pay the Brazilian national team to don green jerseys for the rest of the tournament and hope nobody notices?

In all seriousness, thanks TC for giving me some scenario (how far-fetched, I have no idea) that we'll live to see another day heh

“Now we are only one point behind Italy and Spain...obviously, we [have to] look about winning against Spain or Italy,” - Trapattoni. Suppose that's one way of looking at it!

Possibly you didn't see the Italy v Spain game. Two excellent sides who should have no difficulty in beating Ireland.

Neither could hit a cow with a banjo, we should have had more goals despite playing against a bunch of cheats.
