This was raised on the ccfcforum site. One poster suggested that, as the FAI have sanctioned the friendly on the 12th, then they can't give us 2 fixtures on the same day and hence, the Pats game would have to be played on another date. Not sure if this is true. IMO, the Blackburn game should not have been sanctioned with this scenario possible. League fixtures should take precedence.

Wasn't suggesting Cork done anything wrong. I'm just guessing the league didn't even think to check. Same way they announce fixtures each year the day after European games are due to be played, despite knowing definitely which clubs are involved. They only changed the games last week...

why would the FAI deny Cork a friendly opportunity based on a game for Pats that is as likely to not happen as it is to happen? The first leg of the first round hasnt even been played yet FFS! Im all for criticism of the FAI but thats just nitpicking.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

I wasn't trying to make it a big deal (and I don't think we'll get through). Just thought it interesting it was confirmed as opposed to (*pending the result...)

The scheduling of league games for the day after euro games for Pats, Bohs and Sligo really does bug me though. Euro calendar known well before fixtures announced

LTFC confirmed as playing Millwall on 18th July. Also playing a Man Utd XI on 23rd July, Cork are playing them on the 25th.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

The type of one where the press are there, and they talk from a table at the front and tell people something is going to happen.

It's a press conference about a press conference we're holding in Terryland in a couple of weeks to announce our re branding for next season as FC Limerick of Galway.

Playing out of Terryland Park we will be expecting to secure a Premier licence and do both our cities proud.

We plan to win over the Galway Sporting public by giving geezer one diamond encrusted white glove which he will be using to shake everybody by the hand.

    Further details to follow......

It tells you that more people would rather see the English premier league champions than the republic of Ireland in friendlies against Australia and South Africa. Those friendlies were a joke, half the crowd left by half time in the first match because the Irish players clearly didn't want to be there and put in a pathetic showin, most decided not to come back after that. Tickets were around 50 euro for it also.

I'd never expect a sell out for any team cause you never know what the public will do, price will come in to it, the day it's on etc.....

If we got even close to 20,000 for a friendly then happy days.
