4-0. Long sprints clear after breaking offside trap and hammers it home.

Sounds like a bit of a stroll. Foley is playing the second half.

    5-0 Walters scores after Foley's free-kick saved #fai #euro2012 #coybig #notmuchconsolationforFoley

5-0 Ireland. Players allowed Foley to take a free kick and it was stopped by keeper and post. Walters tapped in, but others went to Foley.

[Update] All over in Italy - sounds like no injuries and 4 of our strikers got goals. That probably qualifies as worthwhile

I'm shocked at the decision to not give Doyle a run-out. It would have been the ideal game for him considering he is in dire need of a confidence boost.

seeing all 4 of his rivals scoring prob wont help his confidence either, was it cox and keane up front together from the start? trap has stated he sees cox as a replacement for keane but this is not the first time hes teamed them up.

Wish McShane all the best, am gutted for Foley though. He must be devastated.

Why would Foley play in this game if he isnt moving on?

Also they put Long Cox next to each other in the squad list as #s 19 and 20. Can't be a coincidence.

    Useless, yet interesting fact.

Apparently one of the Pistoia XI that played tonight was at Inter Milan at the same time as Robbie Keane.

How long was Keanes stay in Italy anyway? I've killed too many brain cells to remember.

He was bought at the end of July 2000 and was loaned to Leeds in December, made permanent the following May.

Do we need to give him a confidence boost though, with three other strikers looking to usurp him? Doyle can hardly say he hasn't had plenty of opportunities. I'm sure he'll get another one against Hungary too.

That must be the ugliest, most garish trophy I've ever seen. Could they not let us take Miss Italy home instead?
