    Came across this: http://www.roscommonherald.com/news/kfcwkfsngb/

Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell, who is on the verge of joining Arsenal, has Roscommon roots.

It has been widely reported in various media outlets, including Wikipedia, that Campbell’s grandfather was an ex-missionary priest, Fr. Noel Campbell from Roscommon.
    Hmm...

But i do know of the Fr Noel Campbell story if it is his grandfather.

That turned out to be false, did it not? Well he was refused a work permit, which seemed to indicate that an Irish passport wasn't forthcoming to him.

Trivial fact I ran across yesterday. Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino was born in the tiny Argentine village of Murphy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy,_Santa_Fe
