re: 92/93 season - time to put this particular bug-bear to bed.
City won it within the rules that were there at the time. Rules
that many ridiculed.
$hels had better goal-difference and the rules changed the next season to allow this to decide the championship. On the face of it, this would have meant $hels would have won had it been in place.
However another rule-change took place - 3 pts for a win. And if
memory serves, City had won more games than the other two, making goal-difference irrelevant.
Therefore City were rightful champions under the old rules and the
new - unless of course I've got swiss-cheese for memory cells. Any statos out there with the 92/93 league table handy?
