surprised nothing mentioned yet this game. it must be the nerves!are ye bringing much of a crowd down?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Tis only (very early!) Tuesday!
About 100 - 120 I'll optimistically say. It's a Saturday and there seems to be a fair bit of talk about it.
Hard to know our starting eleven at this stage with injuries and that. Like I assume Bradley and Behan will be back but I'm not sure who you'd drop from the Rovers game and how we'd set up.
Like on form and fitness you'd probably have to go with a midfield of O'Leary, McGrath, McGann, Bradley but looks really narrow typed out there, like I'm not sure where you'd put them!
We have to avoid defeat first and foremost. Seven points and the title race is over.
If we manage to win our first two games after the break are Wexford and Harps at home so we could feasibly be at the top after that little series of games and I genuinely think that if we ever manage to hit the front it'll be hard to knock us off it.
It's a huge game, for the team and for Scully's position. Limerick have to get something out of this game, or it will be talk of play-offs, not promotion and likely some serious calls regards change in management.
Limerick (apparently, wasn't there myself) played well away to Shams while Longford received a bit of an upset against Cherry Orchard, so I'd like to think Limerick will be better confidence/morale wise and they tend to play better away then at home. But Longford are a very good outfit this season, very solid and consistent. Predicting a score draw.
Any chance Foley will be fit? We're looking a little toothless upfront in the last while, really over-reliant on Gaffney.
The poor crowds that Flancare has been getting are a shame, I'd be interested in seeing how many turn out for a "top of the table" clash.

We usually do quiet well up in Flancare. Decent pitch with plenty of space to knock it around. If O'Leary keeps up his current form he will have a big say in the result. With Gamble missing he has really stepped up in my eyes and has been showing the form he did when he first arrived.
Gaffney moving up front has seen a big change in him also and hopefully he can get in and around their centre halves to cause some trouble.
Jeffrey Judge may also be available as he can sign as of Friday AFAIK.
I'm going to be optimistic and go for 2-1 Limerick with about 90 traveling.
Just to clarify Jeffrey Judge wont be available.
The form can't be signed until the Friday and it then has to be sent by registered post to the FAI for them to complete the registration.
I'm loving the sound of 90-120 away fans coming down. I think all fans of any club will agree the home fans only really get going when they have some rival fans to go up against. I'm also loving the talk of the race being over if we win! That's certainty not the case but nice to hear it all the same![]()
Limerick fans are a friendly old bunch, treated us very well even in defeat last time so we will do the same in saying safe journey lads and worst of luck![]()

Limerick were unlucky not to get a draw in Dublin last week, we are going into this game with a lot of confidence im going for a 2nil limerick win.
I feel its put up or shut up time for us and think we will gain a win.
13-8 at paddy power looks great value to me!!!!A 3-1 limerick
victory for all us long suffering supporters to begin dreaming again...
Speaking of Paddy Power I see a 2-1 for Longford is @8/1 sure it would be rude not to![]()

Well its a big game so we should bottle it somehow but they dont have big crowds to scare our lads so i will go with a draw.
Could really do with some good news regarding injuries.
They won 2 of 9 "big games" last season (10 points from 27 in a league where three or so more points would have seen Limerick promoted) and you think its an over emphasised problem?
Author of Never Felt Better (History, Film Reviews).
Let me explain:
If you look at the record of the other top clubs in the "big games" last season, you will find they are about the same as ours. Yet people go on about it like its a failing thats particular to Limerick alone, or Pat Scully alone.
Now do you understand why I say the problem is over-emphasised?
The margin between promotion and not last year was so narrow that you could chose one of several potential results/reasons, any single one of which could have been the difference - need I remind you of a certain two points gained not on the field of play for example.
