61 people at a League of Ireland game is sad and it is difficult to see how Salthill can improve unless the FAI give them a grant to pay for better players and market their matches in order to attract more people. Both have to be done. Their is no point on spending money on promotion if the soccer on display is rubbish, and having been to one of their games this year their players are of a very poor ability who are unable to produce any decent football. Because Salthill like Mervue are a members club is it not possible for a millionaire owner to bankroll them so it is over to the FAI.
ps I was more enjoyable to watch this type of soccer in a setting like Drom than in Terryland.

No to Franchise Football, people slated Sporting Fingal and now you're proposing that the FAI help Devon out to save their LOI team. Nobody follows them, nobody cares, simple as. They are never going to be an LOI team that truly represents Galway, regardless of them stealing part of our name, our colours and stadium

People are acting like this is the first time there was ever a sub 100 crowd at a League Of Ireland game!

It's pitifully regular!

SD Galway is a kind of stop gap for the FAI while they get Galway in order, I'm sure it's not going as well as they thought but I'm equally sure they're not overly pushed about how well it goes.

They'll sort out somethin for themselves in the near future (with a few gust boys I'm sure.) it's in everyones interests.
