Great city performance- poor first half. Ollie set goal up brilliantly and well finished.
Re rovers goal-O'Rourke misjudged the ball, devine was coming for it (possibly expecting a backpass) but turned back. IMO, he would definitley have made it, if he'd kept moving. He made some good stops & catches, but I think there's a serious communication problem between him and the defence. Deccie was roasted by billy woods 2nd half, and if he'd stayed on, i think they'd have won. (FAO: Gunther- deccie is not a full back!!!!)
Hoggy's goal was class, he deserved it, as did ollie his. O'Grady was excellent, carey solid when he went back to defence, mulligan was all running as usual. Hartigan dd very well when he came back into defence towards the end- not very effective up front, though to be fair rovers players were climbing all over him. some terrible tackles went in, particularly on ollie.

Was there any improvement on the 'Appreciation of Travelling support from Players' side of things?

Against Shels it was just Damo Rourke and Mooney.

    yessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F**klast friday was a great result and a great game. we played out of our skins (both supporters and players) and afterwards I was never on such a (non-chemical ) high in ages. ollie 's third goal was a cracker and mulligan's was one of the moves of the year

the players were great and fair play to gunther for whiping off deccie. mulligan, cahill(king), grady, horgan, coughlan were mighty and while the first 20 minutes of the second half were pretty tense it is was great to stick it to the rovers supporters who showed their true nasty side when things were going against them.

lads if a football game was ever as good as sex then this was it. the only sour note of the game was the disgraceful performance of greg costello in trying to murder ollie cahill

for anyone at it i was the guy in the red jacket siting next to my buddy in the very front row with the black hair and glasses. apparentely me mates spotted me on tv :-)

oh the beauty of live football- f**gin ace. yessssssssssss
    john flynn? - awesome!!!!!!

Didnt have the best view of Hoggie's goal, but Im not to sure that he ment it! Still though it was sweet, and no more than he deserved. The other 2 goals were fantastic aswell, its just a shame that Jimmy Floyd Mulligan didnt finish off that chance just before 1/2 time, it would have been a cracker!

How wasnt a Rover's player sent off btw? The v.late, v.bad tackle on Mulligan (when they got the free for offside in the 2nd half) could (& dare I say, should) have been a straight red card. Who was the ref, does any one know? I didnt recognise him. I wont even start about the linesman
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

    ref

it was one of the mckeon's- dave i think. the lino was unbelievably bad alright. Should have been a few more cards- the tackle on mulligan WAS a red and costello was incredibly lucky to stay on.
