Good move for him. It also benefits us in two ways, Carrs now playing in Europe and for a better team and for Spurs Kelly could well be first choice right back for them now, so it gives us more cover.

Great news from an Irish point of view. Hope Kelly gets back to full fitness soon and stakes his claim.
As a Spurs supporter I'm a little bit sorry to see Carr go. However his attitude over the last couple of years has been suspect. He's seems to have developed a cranky scoul both with his club and Ireland. He doesn't seem to be a fan of Brian Kerrs ways either. Kelly on the other hand is a good prospect and seems to have his head screwed on.
Always look on the bright side of life
seemingly finnan is also about to move.
moving either back to fulham or to blackburn. for irelands sake, lets hope its not to be souness' way
Can't believe Spurs are letting him go for 2 million and he is only what? 27?
Stephen Kelly looks a good prospect but having seen him play for the U-21's I'm not sure he can fill Carr's boots yet.
This is the last year on his contract so they are happy to get anything, besides with Kelly as a direct replacement they get a fee and save on wages.Originally Posted by carnstien

I get the impression Carr is not too keen on playing for Ireland. I hope I'm wrong. He's a decent player but having said that he hasen't lived up to his promise of a few years ago.
He played in every one of Kerr's first 12 games, his last game was against Brazil, but hasn't played since. He left the squad on the day of the Czech match. It was reported that Carr wasn't happy with the way Kerr was going about preparing for friendlies (ie. Showing video's of Canada) but Hughton has said there is nothing going on so I'll trust him.Originally Posted by BobbySands
BTW, he got assists against Norway, Albania (h) and came on in the 90th minute against Turkey to take the corner which Dunne scored from. He is our highest assister during Kerr's reign which is not bad for a full back. O'Shea has also played 12 matches and has no assists.
This thing about Carr no wanting to play for Ireland is rubbish. He has come out and said his greatest ambition is to play in a Major finasl with Ireland. The reason he missed the summer games , was due to the fact he had to get work done on his eyes. As my dad said once a newspaper never refused ink, That gob****e in the Herald is always spouting crap like this pretending he is in the know, when he does not have a clue.
sweet move for carr IMO
j'accuse!
The move has been confirmed.
