Solid display IMO, not much he could have done about the first six.
It's very unlikely that Given will be first choice by the start of next season anyway, so his being dropped is a formality IMO; just a case of when and not if.
Though, obviously, I'd rather this not be the case.

Blameless for the goals, unconvincing under the high ball. Michael Owen called it right, he has always been a keeper who prefers to stay on his line. Forde on the other hand brought in a willingness to claim high balls and generally to very good effect. Neither is perfectly comfortable with ball at feet. Given shades it for me between the two, but Westwood has to come into play soon.
Come June both Forde and Westwood will have been idle for several weeks. That keeps Shay in pole position I'd say.
That's the first time the term "flying monkeys" was ever used on foot.ie. Splendid.
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
On the Villa forum I see the fans saying he will be liability in the cup final, but then of course didn't they get to the final with him?
I just checked and he played every match!!
What a bloody cheek!!!
I have a good mind to create an account and tell them as much, they want Guzen in the final - NO WAY!!!!

rested / dropped for the last game of the league season.
word now is he has a groin injury and might miss the cup final, which makes him at risk for the scotland game perhaps...

https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
I would like Shay to play and for Villa to win the cup.
Erm…… If I was a Villa fan I would want Villa to get a better goalkeeper than Givan or Guzan for next season.
Starts.
Grealish also starts.
I note the Grealsih thread has gone AWOL unless I am mistaken?
Oh yea it was locked wasn't it?
Are we allowed to talk about him in the final?
Great save from the number 31
arsenal ahead. maybe - just maybe - given could have got something on it but it was a powerful drive.
Don't think he could have done much about it.
Well that was one sided. A bad sign when Kieran Richardson is your best player.
Don't think so, a rocket that came the blind side of the defender from Given's point of view. It was past him before he could even consider reacting.
Shearer and Keown saying the occasion might be too big for one of the Villa wingers, even though he's got on the ball a bit. How they have managed to ignore the horror show that is N'Zogbia is baffling, has touch the ball about twice and lost it really badly both times. If Agbonlahor is even twenty per cent fit he'd still be a major improvement.
Yeah and Arsenal have been really at it to be fair.
Stairlift Given is back.
You've got no fans.
