    O'Brien Out?

Irish International defender Andy O’Brien has joined Shay Given as one of Newcastle United’s temporarily unavailable players, as the Irish defender has now caught the same eye infection as Shay Given.
Hope this clears up fairly soon.
    Two big players to lose.

It's a conjunctivitis outbreak, probably bacterial as their diet etc., should be good. Newcastle had to temporarily close their training facility.

It should just be a quick round of medication, chances are they'll be ready well before the 18th, four or five days should see them back, Sir Bobby doesn't usually look for excuses to keep his players out of internationals, no worries I'd say.

Shay looks horrendous apparently. Robson said he looked like he's been in the ring with Mohammed Ali. Would have to be some bout of conjunctivitis though to rule them out for any more than a few weeks. Could have a battle to get back in though. Harper is a very good keeper and has played quite well in friendlies.

Had it before, he'll be fine in less than a week.
