waterford crystal are bound to be amongst the favourites too although they struggled to get over granville yesterday only coming through on pens, but they are still there and they have to be fairly handy to have beaten carrick, and as we all know its "all on the day"

    Draw

    Yeah id say they would.
Anyone still in it at this stage is obviously a good side.
Home draw is vital, especially against the so called big guns.
I believe the draw takes place this wednesday.

All teams left at this stage are obviously well able to play ball. I have seen a few different teams so far and from what I have seen of whats left, I dont think the winner is going to be a real good footballing team as there are a lot of average but well organised teams left who can beat anyone on their day. I fancy Carew or Park Rangers to cause a few shocks yet

I agree but I know this Park side and have seen them regularly and there trouble has been so called lesser teams. They have always struggled against teams in the league who are struggling at the bottom and at the same time the do very well against the big guns. I just think that if they got a home draw against any team they would go places. I heard the were on fire in the first half yesterday and then once again struggled against a so called lesser team when they were under some pressure.

    junior cup

there are three galway league teams left in the last sixteen galway hibs, salthill devon and west utd,the cup could be going shannonside allright just a little west of it.
Tramore of the waterford are also a good junior side managed by alfie hale they have a couple of experienced ex waterford utd players.
EVERGEEN of kilkenny are a strong side having just come back from intermediate football. so there's no sure thing that the cup is going to stay in limerick

Alfie Hale no longer manages Tramore but is still involved with the club, they are now managed by Richie Power who is also an ex Waterford United Manager. Tramore themselves will be no push over they have a mix of some good experienced players as well as youth in their side

West Utd I think my have gone as far as they are going to go. No real experience in the team.

Salthill Devon (Galway United Juniors ) are playing very well and are in with a bit of a chance.

But, I really fancy Galway Hibernians to do very well. A lot of ex-GUFC players in Tony Folan, Ollie Keogh, Rodney Grant etc... mixed with experienced players in Galway Junior terms in John Walsh, Anthony Kelly and Mark McPhilbin have potential to win the competition.

Cant agree with you inexile.Carew are not a better side than Park.I believe that Park would come out on top more often than not when the sides would meet.

I have watched Balla against Michaels and they were not at all impressive. Pike will not win the cup , no matter what they think themselves so much and all as I would like to see cup remain in Limerick I have to agree with the people who think that it will leave this city for one year at least!!!!

    Hope I am wrong though!!!

I agree supersub, I also seen Balla against Michaels and nothing really to note from that game but the strength of the wind!! There are teams left who are there for the taking and would I have to agree that on seeing whats left I feel the cup will be going outside of limerick

I agree about killester but dont know if Balla will win it. I know there playing badly and winning but how long can that last for? Seen them earlier on in the season and they were poor and again lately. Dont get me wrong it would be super for balla to win it but improvement needed.

With a bit of luck, Pike can win it, and easily offer Limericks best chance of keeping the trophy. They are very consistent, are not conceding many goals (only 5 in the premier div at home, none at all to date in the FAI), and have a decent goalscorer in Martin O'Neill.Their lack of strength in depth could bite them later in the competition, but thats where the little bit of luck I was talking about earlier comes in to play. If they stay injury free, then I think thay'll go all the way.

Like i said earlier home draw is half the battle.
Any of the limerick teams, especially pike and balla are gonna be hard to beat on home turf.
And apparantely it takes a very good team to go to killester and win.

Ya definately they are the favourites now...Defence is excellent but they will have a tough one in Ballymun who will get back in i have no doubt. If Pike beat them they could go all the way .I think that Pike would like to avoid a local team also like Balla or Park as they always struggle against both..Park beating them in the league and Balla beat them inthe tsb cup 7-1 last season i think the score was
