Absolutely Brilliant. We finally did it. What a game, great atmosphere - but poor crowd! Benno should of had two but Doyler cleared it off the line . Anyway we have beaten the Sheep at long last

Well adam, i see you've already been over to BTID to share the good news (as have i ) About time we got the the three points of them.
Conna Maradona MOTM as far as i'm concerned. He dragged their unfortunate right back all over the shop.
Honourable mention to Cockney Rebel (yet again) and to Colin T for storming into every tackle.
    Victory is sweet.

    Good night at the cross

Very even 1st half, but the 2nd half belonged to City. Fenn, kearney and Colin T were excellent after the break.

Although it wasn't a great crowd (it was a long weekend so its understandable) the atmosphere in the ground was excellent. The Waterford supporters and especially the Shed ,who were brilliant, made The Munster Derby a great spectacle.

I was a bit annoyed when I found my car locked in 1 of the factory car parks in Turners Cross after the match. The security guard had padlocked both the exits. I had to break the pad lock, but Ill buy them a new one tomorrow. Maybe.

At a guess, id say there was 4000 at the match. You cant be dissapointed with a crowd like that in the Eircom league. Waterford had the better of the chances in the first half but City ruled the second 45. After the goal went in, City had an extra 10 yards of space and they used it very well. Both wingers had good games but only becasue of the class of Fenn. His control and awareness was first class tonight. Truly a brilliant performanace. Dolan has been very consistant with his first 11 and that seems to have paid off. After the excitment of the the Inter-Toto Cup, the only thing that can get the fans going is a decent shot at the league. I for one cant wait for the atmosphere at The Cross when we are battling with Shels going into the last few games. Let the good times roll!

    Tonight..

I thought City were outstanding tonight against a team that were more interested in kicking us than the ball.Football won in the end and i thought we were superb in the 2nd half.As mentioned above about having a settled team i think this working to our advantage.I really think we can have a crack off Shels. So hopefully lets roll over Drogs Monday night and add some pressure on $hels...

oh and whatever about the size of the crowd the atmosphere was excellent again tonight. The Shed is really buzzing lately and other parts of the ground are at last joining in...

A good crowd, I would have said 5000. Waterford tried to kick the **** out of us in the first half and the referee had a lot of work to do. But we prevailed in the end. What happened between Reynolds and Georgie? Clash of heads or what? I was following the ball.

My first Munster derby. And what an ocasion!! Waterford fans played their part too. Very loud in fairness. But as for Drogs, winning 4-0 tonight I'd be happy with a draw on monday up there. They seem to be on fire at the moment.

i thought that alright. The crowd got very loud, as if Reynolds had done something, but then he went down too. Play acting pr!ck. Can video evidence be used to punish him cos the ref had his back turned?

The first half was a bit of a let down. Waterford were too physical, with a lot of play acting from them. We played brilliant in the second half.

our second goal was class - on the ground quick neat passing football from our half that resulted in a goal - brilliant. Could anyone except John Of Flynn get a goal like that?

I enjoyed Pat Dolans interview with Jimmy magee in the car on the way home.

Now I know why there's nothing on citynet about the match, all the feens are posting here instead. I didn't hear the interview between Pat Dolan and Jimmy Magee, what did Dolan say? Was it on shortly after the match? I was in the Horseshoe having a bevvy so maybe that's why I missed it.
I wonder will all the international football media be in touch with the club again, after our success in the Munster derby?

Pat came across very well i thought. He praised bennett to the hills.
He accused the FAI of telling porkies about the fixture pile up.

Gave out about TV coverage of the league (which jim magee ignored).

Jimmy assked him about waterford and alan reynolds.

Pat said "Alan and Waterford are very competitive and that showed in Alan getting a yellow card after 1 minute". Then he stopped talking - class!

I must say, that was a sweet win. We really deserved it, and probably should have had scored another few.

Fair play to the Waaherfurh keeper for his save at the start of the second half. One of the best I have ever seen at the Cross.

It was definitely a save. The ball was looked to be halfway over the line, and he somehow got a hand to it, and scopped it out an away from Doyle who was almost there for the rebound.

I love it that we beat them ,love it.
How sweet that was, couldn't care less how many players they were missing, its testament to the type of game they play that they have such a bad disciplinary record.
Was very frustrated in the first half with our hoofing the long ball again, all down to being closed down quickly and getting the ball forward too fast.
In the second half we started playing it on the deck and then it was only a matter of how many we'd score.
The first header by Benno shold have been a warning to them, luckily it wasn't.
Fenn was man of the match again, It made a big change to the last Waterford game where he got dog's abuse from a lot of City fans and i'm just glad he has shown us what he is capable of.
Delighted for John also he badly needed a goal and hopefully he can drive on now and bang in loads more.
Thought we were very poor on the right hand side, Lordan and Doyle both had bad games but that happens.
The boy Murphy for them is an exceptional player and would cause any defence problems. Shame he is surrounded by such thuggery.

City were brilliant in 2nd half. Great that they didn't rest at 1-0 & went for the kill. Could have been 4 or 5 nil at the end. Fenn 7 Kearney superb.

That's why we were missing 6 players is it?????Get your facts right before you type!!2 players were suspended1 of them being our keeper(suspended for an off the ball incident with a former player of ours) the other being Mark Clifford (who isnt exactly the most physical of players at the best of times). The other 4 players were all injured, which I would put down to the fact that we have such a small squad and can't rest players as some other clubs can!
