Was curious to see how the Sunderland's Irish are getting on in pre season. After reading the match reports from the last couple of games I see that Stephen Elliott was started on the bench for the last match against Doncaster. After coming on in the 46th minute he set up a goal.
In the previous match Elliott started and although had no input towards the goal (Sunderland won 1-0 against S****horpe) was said to have been very lively. Also in that game Sean Thornton started and assisted the goal. Richie Ryan and Gary Breen also played.

Yeah Elliott is probably going to be third choice stiker at the start after kyle and marcus stewart. Thornton has not had much of a run in pre-season he still needs to lose a bit of weight but is a smashing player and if his fitness levels improve will be super player. Breen is Mr Consistent for us again as ever and Richie Ryan is starting to get into the squad. Colin Healy is expected to come back in the next month or so and is doing some light training at the moment
