Ya we where shocking again tonight. We aren't playing any football at all and the players we have don't look like the quality players we know they are.

Glad of the three points but there again it won't attract anyone to jackman to watch us. Fair enough winning is all that matters but if we keep that level of performance up we'll lose a fair few games.

Dissapointed with Dom Foley, clearly fit and able to run so age not a factor but he was fairly anonymous.

    Agree with this.

In fact, I don't even care how we play, as long as we do it effectively. But we were shocking tonight, we look like we have no plan at all for what to do with the ball. O'Brien was shocking, Foley was poor, but I thought Gamble did well tonight.

I dont think the fact the ball is being hoofed up the field helped him tonight the same way with Behan last week.
At stages i forgot that Mcgann was even playing he had no impact going forward and was being passed out way too easily when they came forward wouldn't have him starting ahead of O'Leary.
    Gaffney was awful tonight imo.

Things really need to improve soon this is just not good enough.

Of course he did, he's hardly going to come out after a win and say "we were awful, really poor"
I blame the players more so than him, derek was terrible last night along with Rory, Andrew and Paudie. McGann tried hard, just didnt seem to work for him. I actually think his decisions have been better so far this year, taking off Gaffney for Tracy, Paudie for Denis and McGann for O'Leary.

I think it's easier to say we were poor after a win, lets people know we're not getting carried away with ourselves...
Results like these could be the ones we look back on where we played poorly but still won. And with the diet of Spanish football we've all been gobbling lately anybody will look poor in comparison.
3 games in, 6 points. Not too far off a target Scully might have set for the squad I'll wager.

As you said foley was poor we all seen it but scully has come out this morning and said he was excellent all night and the football we played was really good now sorry but I get standing up for your team etc etc but I'm actually starting to think he is serious he said we were excellent v waterford aswell.

Who said anything about coming out saying we were terrible? But hailing the last 2 performances as Excellent is a joke.....Very easy to just say we weren't at our best but happy with the win.
We have been crap in all 3 games so far except 1st half in Harps game.
I've backed Scully and i still wouldn't be asking for him out or anything as long as we are winning but having the players we have playing so poorly and with an awful style of play is not good enough.
Keep plating the way we did last week and lastnight and we wont keep winning for long got very lucky lastnight.

Dont care too much what he says on the radio but if he actually believes what he is saying it is very very worrying.

No one did, but the puzzled smilie you put after your comment suggested he shouldn't have said they played well. Anyway forget it...
i was behind the dugout last night, he kept telling them get the ball down. Give it to Foleys feet, he won an awful lot of ball in the air. I don't think it's fair that people are criticising Scully when some of the players look like they are lacking confidence. Like last night, Derek, Gaffney, Andrew, Corie, McGann & Paudie, all had poor games imo which i dont think tactics explain. Thats both flanks, one centre mid and one in the hole, so no wonder the ball went long so much. I think we're missing legs in the middle as well to link up the play. Id def go for Shane Tracy over Gaffney though after last night.

(...at least Alex wasnt on the bench though :P )

I don't think he should have said we player brilliantly because we were nowhere near playing well let alone brilliantly.

I think tactics can explain them 3 not being that involved its hard for them to be involved and almost impossible for Paudie to be when the ball is being hoofed over his head.
Andrew playing poorly cant be explained by tactics but then again he shouldn't be starting he is not good enough and being honest i don't think he ever will be.
The system is not working and that is Scullys fault. I was defending him after Harps thinking that things would get better with more games in the 2 games since then it has got worse.

The ball was going long from the start of the game so can't see how those players playing badly explains the ball going long being honest.

I agree with everything bluewhitearmy said above, I've seen Limerick twice this season and not impressed overall. Scully should stop with these mad tactics of 4-1-4-1 or whatever he thinks he's doing, he seems to be over complicating things then going all defensive and predictable. I too have been defending Scully as I think alot of fans go a bit OTT both on here and at the games but Scully is no tactical genius and should stop triing to be and just go 4-4-2 let the players do their stuff and stop making things so hard for us!

i would have put it at 275 with about half of that from Limerick. Great limerick crowds travelling to the away games to be fair. and yes we were muck. Stephen McGann being told to sit back when Gamble was allready sitting in front of the back four sums it up really.

Definitely staying focused on the positives there, but to be fair to him he did say there was improvement needed also, on a couple of occasions, and mentioned the need to keep it down and get it wide better and more often, I think. I haven't been to the games this season so can't comment on the quality of ball being played but I suppose better this way than having knocked it around in our own half and the middle third admirably but not collected any points. I would also say the quality of player in that dressing room will know better than anyone what standards need to be and can be, achieved, but I would hope with a few more wins, an improving league position that confidence will come, in particular to the younger local lads and we will hopefully see a better standard of passing emerge then.
