Well done Cork on the win and bad luck to a very game and spirited Dundalk side.
That Finn Harps side must be very good to have won the Northern Division when Dundalk ran City so close given the season our U19s have had. Played 27 games between the league and cup, lost 2, drew 2, won 23 games. (One win was AET in Waterford).

As this was the first season of the new U19 system its quite possible that some of the teams that didn't make the Elite Division were as good as or better than those who did, so Dundalk andHarps could probably have more than held their own in the Elite Division.

I see that Dundalk knocked out Bohs (5th in Elite) and Shamrock Rovers (2nd in Elite) on route to the final.

Some clubs aprroached it differently too. I know Pats squad is nearly all under 18 (The keeper is 17 for example). Few teething problems for some clubs at the start but I think its been well run in the main with any game I've caught being a very high standard

There's 8 out of our Under 19's squad have 2 years left at that level, 5 have another 1 year and 8 are overage next season.

That's pretty good going to get such a young squad organised and to win the division.

Heard at one stage through the season that the Northern Division was the strongest of all 3 leagues.

Will be interesting to see next season if Harps actually take the promotion or stay in the Northern Division (stayed there this season because of costs, were actually invited to Elite as far as I'm aware).

Very exciting young squad at Harps with I think 4 or 5 of them already making first team appearances.

The Southern Section of the 19s was mainly poo outside Limerick and Cobh with kind of half hearted efforts from Tralee and Carlow.

I think it's possibly no coincidence that the teams with high numbers of overage this year players (Cobh and Harps) won the sections. Cobh were far more physical than Limerick for example.

EDIT: Tralee were actually quite decent aswell now that I think about it tbf.

I wouldn't consider 8 out of 21 to be a high number of overage players for next season. Consider the fact 3 of those were already signed as first team players too.

Dundalk beat both of those sides at their respective away grounds on route to the final.

Dundalk U-19 manager,Martin Connolly stated earlier in the U-19 season that Dundalk were playing in the Northern leauge because of the travel costs involved in playing in the Elite div.Hopefuly he can keep and/or add to this side.

its a high number if the eight of them were regular starters

obviously i know nothing about harps team but cobh were big, relatively experienced boys (who thoroughly deserved their win don't get me wrong )

Not sure to be honest, Sam-heggy would be able to clear that up more so than me, but I don't think they were all regular starters. Most of the regular starters I believe were all 16 or 17.

Maybe we haven't realised Ireland are playing that afternoon and will be told to move it when FAI realise.

So when you say 'confirmed', you mean... 'more than likely, if we're allowed'

Confirmed by the club, but maybe FAI may say otherwise nearer the time.
