Fair to ltid for putting up those attendances, a bit of work involved. I would say they are in better shape than this time last year, but disappointing starts to the season for cork and Derry will certainly affect the overall average add the year goes on.

Could look into it further and find out what other events could be affecting crowds.
its immaterial to me though, thats the point. Of course clubs should have the correct info, but it shouldn't matter to fans whether 1,400 or 1,241 attended. For some here its about petty point scoring, but for most fans crowds fit into the brutal/decent/good/great categories. Anything else is just waffle.

Look at the arguments in all of these threads. You might have 15 posts on whether Sligo brought 300 or 400 to an away game. Whats the point in arguing that? Either way its a great travelling support.

And that wasn't even full. There was about 50 to the right of the stand as you look at it, I know I was there. So lets say that was 300. I didn't think there was another 1000 (att 1270) around the rest of the pitch. Anyway, I don't give a flying... we won.

They'll fall away in most cases. A few averages boosted by Good Friday there aswell. (Limerick going 820, 680, 1270 for example)

Like only speaking on the First Division.

Athlone will stabilise between two to three hundred unless Magic Mike leads them on a playoff push. (could happen)

Harps will drop away a good bit when people realise they're probably not going to win anything.

There isn't a hope we'll finish on anywhere near 924. 550-600 is more realistic.

Longford will probably jump another hundred or so as the season goes on.

    Mervue and SD Galway, meh.

Waterford looks about right and dangerously stable from there point of view. Can't see much in the way of improvement until they get a new boss/players.

Wexfords crowds will drop off when their players realise they're terrible. (Hopefully starting this Friday!!)

Ha, you're completely deluded. Sure we barely expected to win a game this season never mind silverware. For us to be getting any sort of crowd is a miracle considering we haven't had a penny/decent side since 2007.

I've already talked with nige about what I think of Harps "crowds", not getting into it again.

Tell you what, if there's anything like 600 there in two weeks I'll buy you a coke, can't say fairer than that.

Could never understand why clubs do not, what is there is to hide? Not like crowds are massive all over the league. We occasionally do which makes it even more frustrating. We did for the last home game, 1,362 v Shels.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

To quote Ollie Byrne when asked about it 10-15 years ago "what good will it do?"

In fairness he, and others who feel/felt the same way, have a point. Estimates are nearly always 10-20% higher than the real figure. if people want to think there's 1,500 at a game when there's only 1,300 at it, what harm?

As I said earlier, as long as the clubs and FAI know whats coming in.

As game started the reporter on GBFM said there were 'about 200'. Must have been a hell of a lot in late.

I'd guess 350ish at Wexford-Limerick. Somebody else may have a more accurate figure.
The ball is round and has many surprises.
