WTF are you on about. take a look at the attendance figures from last season mate, Rovers are by far the best supported team home and away

First competitive home game of the new season for Shamrocks, yet only a small crowd turn up, perhaps the decline of the new rovers has started already. It is not a good sign when one looks back at what happen during Jim McLaughlin reigns and after the move to the RDS; good support at the begining followed by a steady decline leading to the clubs going bust.

Ask a Shamrock Rovers fan who hasnt been a fan for more than 5 minutes.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

When they have home game they don't really bother with it but they have been by far the best away supported team in the Setanta since the beginning of it. Our first game against them they brought 1,000 to Richmond and 2 years ago they brought 11 buses down on a Tuesday night. Unbelievable away following
    Here on a technicality.

would be nice to have them play in the league down here with away figures like that

I don't think many of the attendance at the Showgs are too excercised about the SC (bar the 50K prize money). I think most went because they were interested in the new squad/manager. I was at Tolka on Friday but couldn't go on Monday due to family commitments but I would loved to have went to see how we shaped after the Shels game.

The gate at Tallaght had to be disapponting to the Shams board, first competitive game, new manager and new players (how many travelled). While I might be tempted by the 8/15 on Shams to retain the league title, I wouldn't take it about them being the best attended club this year even though they have Dublin advantage.

Would that be the Dublin advantage of having 4 other clubs to compete with? I'd wait until after Friday before we start talking about their attendances

As I have said before, there is a lot to have a pop at Rovers about (and I enjoy it) but crowd numbers isn't one of them at the moment

Disappointing? Disappointing as having the locals take a few craps on the away teams supporters buses? Disappointing as having a manager leaving you high and dry couple of weeks before the season starts when you should have ditched him when he touted himself to Derry.

Season ticket sales at Tallaght are higher than your average attendance....wouldn't get too worried about the attendance at the Cliftonville game...

Those teams have a huge population base to draw in comparison to most teams and a short distance to travel for Dublin derbies, furthermore Bray Drogheda and Dundalk are mere commutes so 7 out 11 home games ought in theory to have larger away crowds that is the Dublin adavantage.

Shams have had surges followed by troughs in support before so who is to say that history will not repeat itselfbut no matter what **** you throw the gate again the Red's was poor.

I would like them in our league too yes but they could not keep those figures up if they had more then 2 trips down south a year. Im sure there away crowds would still be 3 figures consistently unlike most clubs (bar Rovers,Cork, maybe Derry) but not 4 figures that often.

Was the Distillery game the first competitive home game last year?

Less than 150 in Terryland Park, despite Devon comping all their members and having tried to give out tickets to anyone who would take them around town. Not many took them up on their offer obviously. Galwegians see them for what they are.

Salthill Devon reported the attendance as 347. The double-vision that has afflicted Mervue officials seems to be even more serious in Salthill.

150? Enough said. 500/600 hardy and loyal fans left without a team to support for the 2nd week in a row while two clubs can barely cobble that between them. The mind boggles
