For all of the rather poor quality and lack of variety, at least the First Division has a run-in worth talking about, which is more than a lot of people expected.

No but what I meant was that for only a handful of clubs has this season actually really had anything special. A lot of the Premier clubs have been in mid-table for virtually the whole season - Bohs, Shels, Bray, Cork and Derry. There are 4 clubs who have been in the title race but going by crowds it doesn't look as if anyone was jumping on the bandwagon at Pat's and Drogheda as it's looked from a long way out that Sligo were going to win the league.
At the other end UCD and Dundalk were in their own battle to avoid the playoff (Bray slipping in to it now) but when there's even a doubt over whether the playoff will happen it's hard too get too excited about it.

In Division 1 the top 3 have been away for the whole season - so outside of those the other teams have been playing out the season and presumably building for the future.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

id say a season where 1/3rd of the league are in the running of the title for a large part of the season is pretty decent. Simiarly, to have three out of 8 teams (37.5%) in with a shout for the title with just a few weeks remaining is a fairly exciting season.

4 - Brian Laws could still yet guide his Shelbourne side to the title.

A lot of them? It would be a funny league if all of the clubs were mid table.

To be fair, i think he is on about the points spread.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Would also allow Matthews to slide over to Tallaght for his dream job. Everyone wins.

Have to say I'm delighted with our attendances this season given that 5th is the highest we've been all season and the highest we can realistically finish.

I think if we push on and can challenge for the top 3 next season the crowds should go up again.

I think for the league it would be fantastic to see Cork push for title honours next season.

With Cork, Shamrock Rovers, and Sligo all hitting attendances over 3000/4000 each game it can only make the game here healthier.

Imagine seeing regular crowds over 4000 in Turners Cross each week. That would be fantastic.

Any of the Limerick folk able to tell us how many were in Terryland. It would be be great to see Cork up near the top of the league as it would draw great crowds to their games home and away.

Anywhere between one and two hundred kinda hard to see from where i was and wasnt arsed counting.

Absolutely no exaggeration to say at least 90% of the crowd were Limerick, we got less support at home games in Pike!

1135 in Dalymount, about 50/60 Cork fans.
Good match with each side dominating in one half and getting pumelled in the other. Another atrocious Robbery Rogers performance in the middle.

If Limerick get promoted, how many do you expect will turn up for home games next season. Do you expect a massive increase?
