As it stands, 11 of the clubs have seen a rise in average attendances from last season, albeit in some cases, very marginal.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

1,057 announced as the attendance in Tolka, seemed a bit high. More Pats fans than Shels fans.
    Here on a technicality.

Laughable. No more than 700 at the game I'd have thought

Shels crowd as teams came out. About 40/50 came out of bars after this

And a mere 25 days to our next home game.

25 days coming to the end of the season is absolutely screaming mismanagement in my book. We weren't far off that kind of gap between home games when the Euros were on. The FAI haven't a leg to stand on.

Drogs v Derry 486. I wonder was there ever a lower league crowd for a side in 2nd place & with a reasonable chance of finishing runners up ?

I'm not sure if we would have got over 2,000 if this was a home game (bottom of league, havent won at home for months), but I recall a QF match away to Finn Harps in 2002, there was just under 5,000 at it. I know Season tickets are not valid for cup games, but I cant help thinking the crowds at this seasons matches have been most disappointing all over the country.

Hopefully these will improve for the semi's, and the final.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Maybe it's because I'm a Galway United fan but this has been one of the worst League of Ireland seasons I remember, the title race has been non-existant, the relegation battle was gone once Monaghan pulled out. The First Division was always going to be a 3-horse race with Limerick coming out on top.
As a neutral there hasn't really been anything to get excited about - the cup should be different but I guess the general apathy has taken over.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

In fairness, it was Finn Harps after all. Always bring out the sunshine supporters.

It's definitely just because you're a Galway fan.

I find this season very intriguing, it's not been of the highest standard, but the run in for the Premier is going to get very interesting yet. The run in for the First division is very tight too, don't expect Limerick to run away with anything.

And Dundalk aren't totally gone yet, at least they're better to watch than Galway last season.

Nobody cares about the FA Cup anymore.

I actually reckon this has a large bearing on the fact nobody cares about the FAI Cup anymore.

    Monkey see, monkey do.
