To be fair to Mervue they probably feel that they have to steal some of GUFC's old moves just to keep up with SD Galway.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

They didn't give one truthful attendance last season, so it is not a new idea for 2012.

Maybe it's just a Galway city thing then? Ah no, I kid mostly, as both yourself and LTID have observed clubs inventing attendances more or less on a whim is a long, established tradition in this league, right up there with such embarrassments as an inability to manage player registrations and suspensions properly, terrible refereeing, FAI indifference and Pat Dolan.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I live less than 100 yards from fahys field. I went in for free at half time and was still bored enough to do the count. Apology accepted Longfordian by the way ! On the issue of the attendance I'm sure I was fairly on the button, if anything, I would probably add on another 30-40 for players/management and match officials !!!!!!!!!

We'll have to see now just how good Mervues support is for the game on Saturday against Harps. I expect to see all the fans up for this game seeing as it's a Saturday...

820 was the official attendance from Jackman Park.

Don't get me wrong, extratime is great, but a Mervue official writes the match reports for them. Terry Flaherty's reports are fine, but the attendance figures are ALWAYS inflated. He's doubled the actual attendance this time.
Just interested, not doubting, but who was doing the liveupdates on extra time? Seems odd to have someone doing the live updates, and someone else doing the actual match report, as it was pretty neutral (yes that is how I spent the first part of friday night - I'm total rock n roll me!).
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

I think it was the same fella doing both. The match report just expanded on the updates really. It's a good service in fairness to extratime.

Well the stand has exactly 609 seats, it looked liked if everyone standing and in the wine-bar went to the stand it would be full and then some. I don't know what the reason is, but I don't think that figure is accurate!

Very poor attendance at Tallaght, seems like most of Shamrock fans are just event junkies like the Dub GAA fans as stu pointed out.

Setanta cup, LSC, League cup, FAI cup, europe, and the league games. Seems like Shamrock Rovers fans have been hit by the recession and cant afford to attend every single game.

We're in the same competitions (apart from LSC) and we managed to get over 2,100.

15 euro on a monday night for a game is a bit severe especially if you've travelled to away game a few days previously to support your team. I guess guys have to plan to go to one or the other if they cannot afford both, and to see your team play at home and be home early enough yourself afterwards looks appetising
