The SD Galway project is a bit of a disaster. Does anyone know who came up with the idea to rebrand Salthill and move to Terryland Park ?
I think it was an idea straight from the FAI heads wasn't it? Try and grab the more casual Galway United fanbase? Didn't work anyway.

I counted 71 at HT so considering I could not see anyone in the toilets, close to the new stand or gone for chips that seems bang on.

Yup, thats the one. Not sure how long the FAI is going to let the current situation regards SD Galway continue, but it's gone beyond farce into being a bit sad. It wouldn't even be so bad if they were back at their old pitch, but it's a shocking waste of Terryland's capacity.

It's a really sad state of affairs. I don't think any of us hold any will ill towards any of the players of Mervue or Salthill, someone has to play for them... but those that helped create the situation... both in the FAI and at the head of the two clubs...
As bad as things are, I can see this having the long-term benefit of insulating Galway football from criminals and fools hijacking our club again. From what I hear there is a lot going on behind the scenes and GUST are as busy as ever. A lot of clubs and great local football people are on board and really want a proper community club playing out of Deacy Park. The idea held by some that everyone should just row in behind Mervue and/or Devon is nonsense. They are primarily junior clubs, which every other club in the county competes against.
Feck this ****e anyway, bring on the Euros!
Rovers had way more fans singing and clapping than Bohs
282 at Waterford United v Mervue as per extratime.ie.
I was sitting close enough to a mixed area of Sligo/ Bohs fans in the main stand, 50 a guesstimate.
I thought it was a good atmosphere and an entertaining match that Hancock did his best to spoil.
Sligo back room staff stayed for pints afterwards, a friendly bunch, happy to wish them success in the league campaign!
Bohs seem to have a decent support base from which to try and rebuild the club. Now if only some solution could be found to restructure the loan from Zurich Bank there could be a future in Dalymount for them.
3500 estimated at Shamrock Rovers v Cork City. About 400 City fans.
