there's a key difference that you are very deliberately (or stupidly) ignoring- alcoholism is self-inflicted.
There is no key difference that I'm ignoring.

In many cases, various types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, AIDS and heart disease can largely be attributed to lifestyle choices. There is also strong evidence that alcoholism is genetic - you're either susceptible or not.

That's not to say that McGrath is blameless but he is addicted, just like the person with lung cancer who couldn't quit smoking.

The opposition is always fair game, whether it's Dan Connor, Alan Reynolds, Ollie Cahill, Trevor Molloy or even Saint Paul McGrath they are all open to abuse and ridicule when the are playing against City.
None of what you say are life threatening illnesses. The last time I checked having a bad hairstyle or being 6 pounds overweight wasn't a progressive disease although I should have've known you'd jump on the "anything's fair game" bandwagon. From reading some of your other posts you seem incapable of taking off your City tinted specs and dealing with reality.

I've only 2 things to say about the guy
    1. While he is a legend in irish football, he's part of waterford and on matchday that makes him a fair target for abuse.
    2. He's been given so much pity and so many second chances by the people of this country that he doesn't deserve any more IMO

Why don't you do all us genuine ccfc fans a favour and f##k off to the english premiership where your self-important, aggressive, humourless and ignorant attitude and postings belong you bitter little sh#te.
