Pointless bit of information for y'all, but I'm bored.
The term "Little Englander" is one of the most incorrectly used phrases in the English, or indeed any other, language.
The term was first used by English people during the expansion of the British Empire who disagreed with British colonisation of other countries, including Ireland. They advocated for a "little England" i.e. a modest, non-nationalist England that didn't invade other countries.
So, contrary to current usage, a "Little Englander" was someone who didn't jingoistically believe in the superiority of their own country.
