    1. Its not begrudging to not want success for a rival....
    2. Many, many fans are happy to support other eL clubs in Europe. On the whole I think its positive that $h£l$ have got through, extremely dissappointing that Bohs and LTC performed so badly, and great that City did so well.
    3. Its only natural that some fans are worried about the possible consequences for their club of one club getting a lot of money, and more importantly, media attention, which could mean that the little money that is there could go towards them. ( I actually think clubs could use the heightened attention for their own benefit)

lansdowne isnt the great idea it sounds to be as ollie said today there are extra costs, rent, cleaning, stewarding and insurance, also they will be playing on a bigger pitch which will play into depor's hands.on top of that any atmosphere associated with tolka dump from last week will dwindle due to the size of lansdowne

financially maybe a good idea but and this is a big but ,if they are still in the tie for the second leg they might throw away the tie!remember the wembley fiasco with arsenal
    j'accuse!

This is the key issue for me. The success of Rangers & Celtic and Rosenberg has not necessarily filtered down to other teams in their leagues. I don't think City's business brigade is going to match TV and Euro money that Shels are going to rake in. We can aspire to match them all we like, but they have a head start that they won't relinquish to easily.
Sure it's great for Shels, good for Ireland's profile, but for CCFC and their ambitions to win the league it sucks.

oh how surprising. I'll congratualte shels for what they did last night, they raised the bar for eL teams competeing in Europe. Well done to them, but I certainly won' be cheering them on. For a club that is so self-important and acts on its on whims (or that of its chief exec) to the detriment of the rest of the league so often, its a bit rich for them to come on expecting plaudits. The idea of we're all in it together is fine up to a point, but when it comes to a club raking in cash that will set them light years ahead, it goes out the window. look after your own club first, and then think about the league as a whole- thats what shels do
