At the very least they shouldn't have allowed an 11 year old child pen the statement!

How do you work that one out? I assume the "whole generation of laughing" you are referring to is the period between 1987 and 2009, which is comical, as even during Rovers' darkest years we still won more league titles than Sligo!

Former Preston caretaker manager David Unsworth has turned down the chance to manage League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers, BBC Sport understands.
Rovers are without a manager following the departure of Paul Cook to League Two side Accrington Stanley. The 38-year-old was recentlyNorth End's joint caretaker boss alongside veteran midfielder Graham Alexander. Unsworth was also believed to be among the front-runners for the Accrington job prior to Cook's appointment. The former defender had a successful playing career, mainly at Everton where he made over 300 league appearances in two spells, winning his one and only full England cap in a 2-1 win against Japan in 1995. He spent the 1997-98 season at West Ham, then famously signed for Aston Villa before re-signing for Everton in the same month in 1998, remaining there until 2004. Spells at Portsmouth, Ipswich, Sheffield United, Wigan, Burnley and Huddersfield followed before he retired from playing to concentrate on coaching.
Unsworth's last game in joint charge of Preston, following the appointment of former Stevenage boss Graham Westley, ended in victory with a 3-2 win at home against Wycombe, and he has since left the club.

Or maybe he read Paul Cooks open letter to Sligo fans, or better still he probably had a look at Sligos twitter page the other night. Did your chairman pay him while he was being considered for the job btw?

I think he would have been worth a shot for sure. Played at the highest level for so many years in England. Has a world of experience in dressing rooms with top managers. Was always a leader on the pitch, surely would have been decent as a manager.
I hear Staunton has his name in.

Little's recent managerial record is less than impressive.

No. The Swedish girlfriend thing is better. I loved that story when you first told it.
