I actually can't wait for the season to finish now. I would LOVE to see Limerick screw it all up now. I hope to jesus they finish 2nd with all the fans up their own holes about walking the league this season.
Isn't it nice that for once, nobodies predicting/expecting a team will go bankrupt this season![]()
Premier:
1. Sligo
2. Rovers
3. Pats
4. Derry
5. Cork
6. Shels
7. Bohs
8. Drogheda
9. UCD
10. Monaghan
11. Bray
12. Dundalk (jesus, that was depressing, I was trying to figure teams placing by budget, squad, coach and stability, bottom 4 are interchangeable)
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
1. Limerick
2. Longford
3. Waterford
4. Athlone
5. Harps
6. SD Galway
7. Mervue
8. Wexford
FAI Cup: Monaghan - Dundalk final (the top clubs will be fighting for 3rd)
League Cup: Does it matter? Derry
Rovers to go out early in the CL and miss out on the EL.
Sligo to make 2 rounds in Europe and get robbed somewhere (thus allowing their fans to whinge ad nauseum). Pats to make a serious go of it and make 2 rounds too. Derry to lose away and win at home in a carnival atmosphere.
National team to finish 2nd in the group on 5 points and lose on penalties in the quarters.
LTID has already said he is only putting us so far ahead to wind up the rest on this. I certainly don't think we will walk it and neither do most Limerick fans. Most people are looking at it and saying the top three or four will most likely beat the bottom 4 more often than not meaning the top 4 could go the whole season only losing a handful of games like last year. It will come down to the games against each other, Limerick vs Longford, Longford vs Waterford, Waterford vs Limerick etc.... Whoever can come out of those the best will win the league in my opinion. Cork had the best record against the top teams followed by Monaghan, us and Shels (i think) and won the division in the end. Limerick don't usually do well when it gets tight at the top and certainly never do well as favourites in any game. We have arguably the strongest team but so did Fingal for two seasons, not getting promoted the first time and only going up through the playoffs the second time.
Not agreed coz we havent completed our signings and those that have come in are stronger and at least have premier division experience unlike those who were here last season. (excepting Fabio of course)
Hard to make concrete predictions yet, it's only the beginning of February after all, it will be another month before all clubs have their squads finalised.
You'd expect the likes of Dundalk, Derry, Monaghan, UCD, Shamrock Rovers to snap up a few more yet. Cork and St Pats could do with another striker as well it would appear.
Now, now, be honest.
You can't wait for the season to finish because your own rate payer backed outfit are going to be terrible (again)
I've seen three or four Limerick fans on here bragging about walking the league.
Our average attendance is 500 - 600.
Our latent fanbase (ie the amount of people we could put into jester hats and onto buses for a Cup final) is probably in the region of 3000 - 5000.
So in summary 0.1% of Limerick fans have been bragging about walking the league.
Believe me though, I do genuinely feel a bitfor Finn Harps, the very best of luck with everything this season.
Anyway, back to the thread, FAO fans of Cork, Shamrock and Sligo, which is best??
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Thanx in advance.
Sava
Shane Grimes
Sean Brennan
Ryan Brennan
Fabio.
Who have ye brought in that are improvements on them then?
Bennion or Schlingerman better then Sava?
Bayly better then Ryan Brennan?
Have ye even signed anyone to replace Sean Brenan or Grimes?
Ill give you that Murphy may be a good replacement for Fabio.
