What do Sligo fans think of your chances? I don't think you look half as good as you did last season but with North you seem to be able to eek goals out. So, oddly, I'd expect you to be more prepared for Europe this year than last.

Probably worth a read.

I agree we don't seem to be playing as well as last season but we're getting results this time. Hard to know what these are like, this is their first league game and apparently they haven't looked great. The team they're playing finished 2nd from bottom last year (of course they may have improved since then, no idea) so mightn't be a good start for them if they don't win.
The good news is the heat is expected to drop in Slovakia this week, was up in the 30's last week, 19 to mid 20's and maybe some rain this week coming so hopefully gives us a better chance at it.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
I saw the Slovak league champs Zilina last year when they came to Iceland and they looked ordinary. They looked as if they were still in pre-season mode and they got hammered.
I'd say you have a 50/50 chance, depends on the first leg result because you'll beat them in Sligo.
Actually that's usually attributed to Aristotle.
Moving a verb doesn't make it yoda. Just like last season doesn't make you experts on europe.
IF you're looking for some wisdom from yoda try this, its apropos to seeking a second european win in tallaght.
Do or do not, there is no try.
Both of Rovers big wins in Europe have come from winning outright on the night away from home. Their best performances in the group stages were away from home, in the lead in London, equaliser in Greece and equaliser in Kazan. There's no surprise that the team that does well away from home has a fighting chance. I'm not including Flora..
When you keep going 3-0 down to Lviv and Krylya and 2-0 down in Iceland and losing in Kazakhstan, 2-0 down to Hertha Berlin, that team doesn't get far.
Like Rovers on Tuesday won't be going far..

Both games in Iceland were in the first round. Kazaksthan was in the second round and so was our game in Russia
Also in the second round we drew to Elfsborg.
Other first rounds away games were a win in Malta and a win in Lativa.
IBV (once), Karagandy and Elfsborg were all away first so aim was just to keep in close and stay in the tie, job done.
Rovers were only away once first in their recent European qualifying games and lost that one..
*By second round, I mean round we played in second. Was known as 3rd round in some years.
Here on a technicality.
We've played in the 2nd qualify round twice since the new Europa League and won both ties. In the away legs we won 1-0 (2nd leg), lost 2-1 (first leg)
In the previous UEFA Cup we won away the first round and drew 2-2 in the 2nd round (both first legs)
So as 2nd rounds go we're ok

Pats making history by becoming the first Irish side to play a team from Bosnia in Europe.
Sligo are the second side to play in Slovakia. Pats lost 5-3 on agg to Slovan Bratislava in 1996
Bosnia will join Armenia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Moldova and San Marino as countries with one tie against Irish opposition.
That leave Andorra, Azerbaijan, Faroes, Georgia and Montenegro as the only current UEFA members never to have played LOI opposition
Dinamo Tblisisi (Georgia) played Waterford in 1980 as part of the USSR
