    Update on Champions League:

Rovers at the moment are in the last possible position for seeding (assuming teams of higher co-eff than Rovers win leagues currently ahead), there is 3 leagues below, which are Israel, Azerbaijan and Macedonia.

Israel: Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona (below) are currently 16 points clear, so thats 1 league ruled out, you would think.
Azerbaijan: Neftçi Baku PFC (below) are currently 5 points clear of FK Qarabag (ahead) and 6 points clear of FC Inter Baku & FK Khazar Lankaran (Both below) with 6 games to go
Macedonia: FK Vardar (below) are currently 14 points clear, with 10 games to go, again we can rule this out.

So the only threat to Rovers is if FK Qarabag win the Azeri League.

    Update on the Europa League.

Bohs and Pats will both be seeded in Round 1. Going on previous semi regional posts we'll face one of these sides IMO. Listed in order of ranking, teams in bold have definitely qualified.

    EB/Streymur - Faroes
    FK Šiauliai - Lithuania
    JJK ( Jyväskylä) - Finland
    Cliftonville Northern Ireland

    Daugava Daugavpils - Latvia
    Llanelli - Wales
    Crusaders - Northern Ireland
    Jeunesse d'Esch - Luxembourg
    Žalgiris (Vilnius) - Lithuania
    IBV- Iceland
    Trans (Narva) - Estonia
    Por Akureyri - Iceland
    Kalju (Tallinn) - Estonia
    NSÍ Runavík - Faroes

    Portadown - Northern Ireland
    CS Grevenmacher - Luxembourg
    Víkingur - Faroes
    Cefn Druids - Wales

Depending on a few results, Pats may be seeded in Round 2. We'll know within a month. Bohs and Sligo won't be.

Rovers may be seeded in CL. They need one of Sheriff Tiraspol in Mildova or Zestafoni in Georgia to not win their league. Pats would like the opposit for round EL 2 seeding

Based on this then. They need 2 from the 3 leagues highlighted, to go the way of the lower seeds or else Rovers ain't seeded. Gonna go down to the wire I think

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I've been informed by my brother, who has a bit of a knack for all things co-efficients, that Rovers won't be seeded if Chelsea win the Champions League.

Edit: Actually, it's not as simple as that, he tells me. Why did I think co-efficients could be simple?

Győr in the Hungarian League will be serving the second year of a 3-year ban from UEFA competition due to breach of licencing rules, so regardless of whether or not they win their league they won't be able to compete in Europe. That leaves it just down to the Georgian and Moldovan leagues. For Rovers to be seeded they need both Metalurgi Rustavi and Dacia Chişinău to win the Georgian and Moldovan leagues respectively.

Here's Shamrock Rovers current seeding status. The below is assuming Bayern win. If Chelsea win 2 teams need to win their league.

To get a seeding spot 1 of the 7 teams below have to win their leagues.

Moldova – Dacia (1 point ahead, 6 games left)

Georgia – Metalurgi Rustavi (1 point behind, 6 games left)
Poland -- Korona Kielce (4 points behind, 3 games left)
Hungary – Videoton (8 points behind, 5 games left)
Slovakia – Senica (8 points behind, 6 games left)
Bulgaria – Ludogorets (8 points behind, 5 games left)

Potential opponents, these are more or less confirmed!:

    If Unseeded:
    Belarus - Bate Borisov
    Poland - Legia Warsaw
    Sweden - Helsingborg
    Finland - Helsinki
    Latvia - FK Ventspils
    (Ireland - Shamrock Rovers)

    If Seeded
    Norway - Molde
    Northern Ireland - Linfield
    Wales – TNS
    Iceland - KR Reykjavík
    Estonia - Flora Tallinn
    Faroe Islands - Tórshavn

Pats and Bohs Seeded in Round 1 of the europa league.

Bohs and Sligo unseeded in round 2.
There are 80 teams in round 2. Pats have the very last seeding spot as it stands. Will only know for definite when all the leagues end.

Pats in Rd 2 are in a similar enough position as Rovers. Need a couple of things to fall their way from 10 leagues. Among them are the opposit to Rovers (ie Pats want Sheriff to win league in Moldova and Zestafoni to win in Georgia). Would help if St Johnston pick up last Scottish spot

First of the 10 things has happened. No Dinamo Minsk in europe next year is good for Pats.

Pats and Bohs confirm they've received their Euro license. Presume Sligo and Rovers have too, but haven't seen any confirmation

Coleraine can still overtake either Portadown or Cliftonville if they win on Saturday
    As it stands;
    Cliftonville 69 pts 24 gd
    Portadown 68 pts 24 gd
    Coleraine 66 pts 24 gd

    Cliftonville v Portadown
    Crusaders v Coleraine
So depending on the outcome of Clif/Ports a victory for Coleraine over Crusaders will get them up to 3rd. A draw will see Portadown losing out by whatever GD Coleraine can manage.

With Linfield strolling it again this year it keeps a bit of interest going till the end.

Good weekend for Rovers in terms of their chances of being seeded.

Dacia are still 1 point ahead in Moldova with 5 games to go

Metalurgi Rustavi are now 2 points ahead in Georgia with 5 games to go

Korona Kielce are now only 2 points off top with 2 games to go in Poland but there are 4 teams ahead of them so not looking likely that they will win the league
    Here on a technicality.

Coleraine blew it against Crusaders on Saturday so it will be Portadown and Cliftonville after all.
Should have known better than to doubt Dodge's take on things.

If Bayern win the CL it means that the group stage spot for the runners-up in Germany will be vacated.

I imagine this place will be filled as follows:

Belgian Champions will enter the group stage.

Swiss Champions enter Champions 3rd Round Qualification

The Champions of N Ireland and Malta would enter Champions 2nd Qualification

There would only be 4 teams in the Champions 1st Qualification.

This would mean that one of the seeded teams in the 2nd qualifying round (FC Basel) wouldn't be there any more so Rovers would move up one spot.

If Chelsea win the CL, England won't get their final qualifying spot.

I imagine this place will be filled as follows:

3rd Place in Portugal and 2nd in Russia enter the 4th QR For Non=Champions.

Leaving only 8 teams in the 3rd QR for Non-Champions.

Having no impact at all on Rovers.

In the first instance, Bayern winning the CL, Rovers would only need one of Dacia, Rustavi or Korona to win the league. In the cast of Chelsea winning the CL they would need 2 or those to happen.

JC you have no idea how hard it is to explain all that in 2 lines

Last year Barcelona winning bumped every team up 1 in the champions round. The same will happen this year only if bayern win.

I have my guess on Moldova and Georgia to go Rovers way anyway. Our seeding could be known as early as 2 weeks.

Incase it hasn't been mentioned. The first round is regionalised. Northern, Middle, Southern.
