Dunfermline Athletic have rewarded a quintet of their most promising youngsters with new contracts.
Billy Mehmet, Aaron Labonte, Noel Hunt, Gary Dempsey and Richie Byrne have all been offered improved deals to stay at East End Park.
Mehmet and Labonte are ready to ink the one-year extensions while Hunt, Dempsey and Byrne should follow suit before the start of the new SPL season.
Pars director of football Jim Leishman feels it is imperative that the club keep the younger players in the squad, due to the current financial situation in the game.
"They are the future of Dunfermline and we want to keep them," said Leishman.
"Finances these days are always going to be delicate but we are trying to help our players as much as possible.
"Dunfermline have made major steps forward in the past year and the players have given terrific support to what we've had to do."
