Whatever happened to the Weekly LOI show on RTE Radio 1 extra. Did it go the way of the Dodo?
It went on a break during the off-season...
I listened to this this afternoon, not bad for a first outing. It was a little long I thought though, the conversations started to ramble a bit near the end of each subject. It'll only improve as the participants get more used to it and as there are more things to talk about.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
I think it needs a bit more structure, I'm listening right now and it seems to jump from subject to subject very quickly without any real pattern
Yeah, I'd agree with that. It is easier to do with the amount of resources they have at their disposal though.
FW has itself gone a bit downhill recently. It sounds a little tired, and even James Richardson sounds jaded. Things might improve if they got rid of Barry Glendenning. It seems amazing to me to have someone on a podcast who revels in his own ignorance and dislike of the things they are talking about. He had great comedy value for a while, but he's become a bit of a caricature of himself.
Thumbs up though for Philip Auclaire, Paul Doyle, Raphael Honigstein, Amy Lawrence and football geeks like John Ashdown etc.

Presenter was trying to be Eoin McDevitt.
From this weeks one.
Limerick will have to "come up against a Gary Dempsey centre midfield they wont beat that will they" so we wont beat Waterford because of their one man centre midfield? Great footballing knowledge from the lads.
Fairly sure Gamble and Bradley will do alright.
Take the background musak track off. Oh you took it off 2nd half.
,well done.
Moar off the LOI and well done on the WFAI but leave the National side talk behind. They have laods of coverage.
Gone up a point in my in my reckoning.
The promo structure between prem and div 1 is well known so waste no more time on that.
I must say, I quite enjoyed that, although I turned it off for the last part. No interest in hearing any more about the national team. At times it's a bit like listening to Paul Osam and Pat Scully on the old TV3 highlights show but it was quite enjoyable for the best part. Great to hear some sort of media coverage on the First Division.
We now know that they have a look on here for a reaction
Lads the background music at the start done my head in but I like the show, always good to have more talk about the league
P.S mention me in the next podcast
Here on a technicality.
Enjoyed the 2nd episode, they had a bit more to talk about so it didn't drift as much as the 1st one. I agree with the others though, please drop the background music; it's really annoying! I found the volume a little low listening on earphones outside too, that might just be me though.

I did notice the volume problem too. One of the guys wasn't speaking into the microphone properly and was very faint at times. Other than that and the music, the sound quality was top notch.
