    Anton Rodgers

Made his debut for Brighton today in the FA Cup in their 1-1 draw with Wrexham, coming on in the 63rd minute. Been some discussion on him already...his father is Brendan Rodgers, who apparently wants him to play for the North. Will be interesting to see how his career, both domestic and international, pan out.

Gerry Armstrong is apparently set on visiting Brighton for an audacious poaching attempt: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15016954.stm

As it stands, Rodgers' son Anton has declared for the Republic of Ireland, but his father says "that is not something that can't be rectified".

"I spoke with Gerry Armstrong recently as I'm a big advocate of Northern Ireland.

"I want to see Northern Ireland boys play for Northern Ireland and the reason my son is playing for the Republic is simple - they asked him while he was never asked to play for Northern Ireland.

"I've been speaking to Gerry and I think he's planning to go to Brighton to speak to him.

"Northern Ireland is a small country but we have a lot of talented players - we just have to look at how we can keep things moving forward."

'Day 3: Albion players on trial for sex assault': http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/10176...r_sex_assault/

Four footballers are in the dock at the Old Bailey accused of sexual assault and voyeurism at a Brighton hotel.

Anton Rodgers, 19, and George Barker, 21, both of Highview Avenue North, Brighton, Lewis Dunk, 21, of Woodbourne Avenue, Brighton, and Steve Cook, 21, of Perth Road, St Leonards, deny sex assault and voyeurism.

On Tuesday the court was told the four footballers took advantage of a young woman whilst celebrating their Sussex Senior Cup victory the first game at the Amex stadium.

Richard Barton prosecuting said: "These were the actions of a group of arrogant young men labouring under the misguided belief that by reason of their privileged position they could with impunity take advantage of a young woman."

On Monday the jury was sworn in.

    The trial continues.
