Can't agree with that. We have three EPL regulars - Clark, Egan and O'Shea - and Long who gets regular call-ups. At C'ship level there's the promising Nathan Collins and long-time Championship regular Darragh Lenihan.
Keogh is 34, just back after a very serious injury, was never EPL standard and is stained by discipline issues. No doubting his commitment, but there's no reason whatsoever to bring him back.
I took the discussion in a more general sense. Nevertheless, for me that leaves four players (O'Shea, Clark, Long, Lenihan and possibly Doherty) ahead of Keogh for a CB spot. I'm delighted that Richard is back after a traumatic period in his life - but, again in my opinion, he's bottom of the list.
Yeah, no one (or almost no one) is arguing that he should drop straight into the team, but between current injuries and all the covid-related messing last time out, we can't afford to turn our nose up at squad depth. Keogh's been playing again long enough to dismiss concerns around his injury. He's good cover for us.
Covid-negative, maybe; I haven't checked.
I've a feeling kenny will play Duffy regardless of form
