I'd have thought finding players would be the hard part.
They would need a referee, who may have to be cleared by the FAI???? Not sure, maybe local referee not answerable to the FAI, someone here might be able to clarify
"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
I'd have thought finding players would be the hard part.
Great Night at the flagship club of the Westside area of Galway City the progressive Corrib Rangers club awards night , to see hundreds of parents, junior players, girls and boys all enjoying themselves in a very relaxed atmosphere with the president of the Galway District League.
Then the Highlight of the night was to hear the Corrib Rangers Chairman offer support to GUST to widespread cheering and applause in the room was truly humbling and uplifting on a very tough week. It made me proud to be associated with Galway United Supporters Trust.
To see editors , photographers of the biggest local papers, correspondents of the national tv media and the President of the District League come over to Ronan and offer handshakes and words of support to continue the simple message of One City, One County, One Club was fantastic. Thanks Corrib Rangers, your future and GUSTs is very bright from what i witnessed this evening.
Are the GUST hitching the wagon a bit too close to Corrib Rangers??
Could it not just lead to the city becoming a three junior clubs dick swinging contest rather than the current two??
Also a brief look at their website would indicate their A team are miles off Mervue and their B team and reserve teams are struggling?? And they don't have that many teams??
Genuine questions, I don't know the craic.
Gust's application for a first division licence was supported by the Galway FA and 33 clubs from the Galway and District league. Corrib rangers are one of those clubs. Gust are closely connected to a number of junior clubs who share the vision of having one sustainable club in the LOI representing the city and county.

Galway United - Connacht Champions 2008
Genuine short answer to the question. Corrib Rangers awards night was on that night and GUST members were there to thank them for their support and lay out their plans, as they will do for any other club who wants them. There is no exclusive link with them, which would be completely against what GUST's aims are.
GUST have had close links over the last year with other junior clubs. Especially Knocknacarra and East United off the top of my head.
Galway Hibs also.
Will there be any open trials as the New Galway look ahead?
End Apartheid Now! One Team in Ireland!
They seem to be picking up a few Galway Utd players and Mervue players.
