Can't recall much about him other than the name, but Sam_Heggy seems to think he's a cracking player.

They're two very good signings. Squad is looking strong.

Looks like the strongest squad Longford have put together since relegation. Limerick will surely win the First Division, but ye look the best of the chasing pack.

Definitely our strongest squad since we went down. It's taken a few seasons to build it up but hopefully we're well placed to contend at the top anyway.

Realisticly anything lower than 2nd will be disappointing with that team, given how weak the division is outside of Limerick, and I suppose Waterford will be decent, other than that every team should be muck

We should be there or thereabouts, but we shouldn't be creating hostages to fortune before a ball has even been kicked. Plenty of time for other teams to strengthen - some are in a much better position to do so now!

So the squad is looking like this at present:

    GKs
    Hyland
    Hunt
    (u19 keeper Fallon?)

    DEF
    Haverty
    Hope
    Deans
    Dowling
    Flood
    Cronin
    O'Reilly (possibly)

    MID
    Salmon
    McGill
    O'Brien
    Gillespie
    James
    Crawley
    Morley (possibly)

    FWD
    A Skelly
    S Skelly
    Bermingham
    Shaw
    Purdy

Not bad at all. I think that's everyone anyway.

CMON DE TOWN! Would love 1 experienced keeper to act as cover always like to have 3 senior shotstoppers, I think were ok up front and unless kirbs comes back then we should be finished in midfield so unless we bring in a defender or two I'd say were fairly finished. Good squad though top 3 minimum.

Heard the great news last night but out of courtesy let the club post it up first.. I know James was confd last night but not McGill but thats super news that the two of them have signed so thats three of shels squad we have got.. James is well experienced playin nearly ten yrs in the league, bray, galway,us, sporting fingal and one season with shels. I am surprised that James wasnt kept on.. McGill was part of Shamrock rovers squad that got promoted in 06 and was also with Dublin City. I wouldnt think that Noel Fallon would be part of that panel as hes not in the under 19s first team at present.. Im mightily impressed with the squad but will not put pressure on the lads..

Like I said I think were ok in midfield and upfront so I don't see us signing forket now I still think we need some more defenders and a keeper we look especially short in the FB positions, any word on Mick lee?

Word in what way he was announced as signed on official website before christmas with O'Reilly and Morley to prove their fitness, this leaves Cronin and Lee for left back and Dowling, James(can play there) and O'Reilly(if signed) for right back, also deans, hope, haverty and flood leaving 2 players for each defensive position, not bad going on a low budget to be fair
If god wanted us to play football in the clouds he would have put grass up there!

I knew I was forgetting somebody, I left out Mick by accident. Can't seem to edit the original post now.

That's what we need to natural position players going for each position if we have that then I can't see why we can't push for top 3.

Heres an interesting one I was thinking up today, what would be your starting 11 from the players we now have mine would be

    gk - hunt
    rb - dowling
    cb - deans
    cb - flood
    lb - cronnin
    rm - Mcgill
    Cm - Gillespie
    cm - samo
    lm - Crawley
    st - bermo
    st - shaw

Would like to have colly in there but just can't fit him in which is a great sign.

Two very good signings in James and McGill... Squad is really taking shape now! Still think we're short of a natural right winger, I dont think Gillespie has the legs for there any more.. Unless Cousins has something else in mind re formation!

Personally if i was to pick a team as it stands...

    Hunt
    Haverty Flood Hope Lee
    McGill James Sammo Crawley
    Bermingham Shaw
