    A pirate satellite dish?
I never heard of that one before, those Canadians were craftier than I thought and such a well kept secret.

If true, could Hull possibly be an option for him?

His gung-ho approach to man-managing professional footballers is hardly going to endear him to the entire Sunderland squad. The players at Sunderland are unlikely to take media criticism and harsh penalties as well as a League One or Two footballer at Swindon. O'Shea is still playing and he has won far more than Di Canio! Di Canio's approach to management strikes me as one Roy Keane would have adopted had he been dabbling in Class A's for the duration of his time as Sunderland manager.

Or perhaps your subtlety was so delicate, the satire went right over my head?

No subtlety, calling it soccer in my house eliminates any confusion as to what I'm talking about.
And there's generally mass confusion when I'm talking

Looks to me by the use of the word "the Republic" it's another copy and paste job from RTE.

Well in recent times they have seemed to change their style regarding the North. This wouldn't surprise me if it was an inside job.

Are they prepared to pay for the additional security and public relations / media management resources required?

McClean playing in Ibrox would cause more trouble than a rampant bull in a very, very tightly-confined china shop.
